Great place for souvenirs
Mar 2020 • Family
This is a breezy open air market in Masaya. This is a great place for gifts and souvenirs for your friends and family. This market is safe, open air, and caters mainly to tourists. There is something for everyone here in this market. The prices are fairly cheap, depending on who you go to. Some of the things you can buy are typical clothing, flags, hammocks, keychains, bracelets, hats, and so forth. We went as a family with a 7-year-old and he had fun picking up little souvenirs and knicknacks here in this market. Highly recommended for those looking for souvenirs and gifts to take home.

Nice shopping area
Mar 2020 • Family
Arguably one of the best places to shop for souvenirs in the country of Nicaragua. Dozens and dozens of small booths with local vendors. Some stuff just Chinese garbage but all a very good selection of locally made crafts

Third time, helpful people
Nov 2019 • Friends
This was the third time I've been to this market. This time we were there at the end of the day and many shops were closing. We were looking for some specific baskets & some vendors said their neighbor bender had them but she had closed. They called her and she returned. Indeed she had what we were looking for. Thanks! At busier times the crowds can make it a bit sketchy.

Lots of artisans and organic coffee too.
Apr 2019 • Solo
I enjoyed meeting Franco, who sold me his organic coffee from his finca Santa Juana. Very pleasant man. I enjoyed going through the market and bought more than I planned, but nobody was pushy.

The Very Best Market
Feb 2019 • Solo
Not far from the market set up for tourists is the main central market. This ones bustling with the locals and has everything you could ask for. Many, many stars and merchants, it winds without rhythm - the type where you can get lost in the local culture, buy what you like and look for a huge variety of goods.

This is the place where artist show the work and there is always something one could find. Paintings are above average for a tourist destination. Ceramics is reasonable quality with interesting design. If you desire snake wallet this is the place to get it

A good place to go to get Nicaraguan souvenirs
Oct 2018 • Friends
We went there while on a day trip with our guide. While many of the shops were not opened over 50% were in they had a good selection of souvenirs, cigars trinkets etc. tourism is down somewhat because of the recent demonstrations however if you’ll avoid any political issues and just be a tourist you will be fine.
Because tourism is down they said just be a little more cautious with your belongings as people don’t have as many jobs as they did before. Use common sense.
Nothing was too expensive and compare to places in the US very reasonable so we didn’t Bargain very hard.
