I have been here on a number of occasions and always love the quiet of the area. As it is run by the Office of Public WOrks (OPW), it is only open to the public (interior) at certain time. Regardless, take the time to wander around, as it is a beautiful building best explored on outside and inside...to get a... More

Great castle to explore. Incredible history and amazing that it is upright and safe to explore inside on foot. Some awesome photo opportunities and then a great pub across the road for a nice pint.

Well worth spending some time here and so easy to find with St Mary's right beside this wonderful site. The Hotel Abbey is a great Irish pub with great service and food

Visited in a soft Irish mist. Just loved walking around the ruins. We were the only ones there so no crowds to contend with. Met a local gentleman who gave us a history of the surrounding area. Located in a nice village where you can have a cuppa or a pint. Just wish the ruins had more of their history... More

I was amazed at how well preserved and kept the site was. The groundskeeper/guard was a bit on the surly side, but the experience was worth it. You should definitely go and see it!

My husband had picked out Quin Abbey via satellite imagery as one of the places he wanted to visit. Due to a variety of reasons we almost didn't get there, but managed to do so the day before we departed Ireland. Do not make that mistake, make Quin Abbey one of the FIRST places you visit. Stunning and amazing in... More

Make sure to visit this beautiful Abbey when you're paying through the village of Quin. The entrant us through a nice park area right in the village. The Abbey is built right beside the river, with nice walks. Lots of old vaults and tombs inside the Abbey. Have lots of fun reading the inscriptions, some of noble families!

A nice and lonely place to visit. The entrance is free, and you can walk through the cemetery to the ruins and enjoy every corner of it. In front of the church you have a tea room for a light lunch, or a pub.
