We were recommended to come over here when in Portumna and it is another lovely little historical centre with a lovely lady running it. The battle itself was one of the most important in Irish history so its worth taking in if you can.

Hannah met us when we went in. She gave us a short talk about the battle and the whole background. She is extremely knowledgeable, and she, obviously, loves history. After our tour of the very well organized museum, we sat down for a cup of...More

Shannon and I visited today after having meant to for quite some time. The exhibits and documentary film are really good. Many interesting artifacts and well done illustration and text panels. The young lady (Abby) who was single-handedly running the place was VERY good. Really...More

The center does a wonderful job of explaining the Williamite War which led to British control of Ireland. The displays are clear and well done and the staff is fantastic - knowledgable. Helpful, and very friendly. This should be a stop on bus tours around...More
