This centre covers lots of local history, and broader Irish history. Learnt about the Gordon Bennett Race fore runner of the now formula one. Wonderful exhibition on Shakelton.

Good on the history of Athy !!!! Tour was self guided but thorough. Interesting artifacts. Staff was very friendly .

I came on the heritage centre by accident and popped in to find very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It is the home of a wonderful Shackleton exhibition and also a tourist information office with wifi and computer facilities.

Pleasant folks showed us the exhibits. This is the only permanant exhibit regarding the Endurence expedition. Nicely maintained.

Great museum in the centre of Athy which would appeal to all ages. There are displays on WW1, Shackleton, and Famine, just to mention a few. Great variety on offer, and a beautiful old Arrol Johnson Car., I found the staff very friendly and helpful...More
