Having driven an hour and a half to get to Burtown House & Gardens, we arrived at lunchtime. It was obvious by the look on the waitresses face that we should have booked a table beforehand. Whilst the website states that booking is recommended, it doesn't state that booking is essential. We were first offered a table that had benches... More

Thanks for your feedback and I remember well your visit. I am truly sorry that you had a bad experience at our restaurant, as we are continuously trying to make sure that everyone is treated with respect and efficiency. But on Sunday we had a new Charcuterie board that had not been assigned to the kitchen printer which I acknowledged... More

I have been to the wonderful green barn on several occasions am so sad to see the recent reviews on this site. A new chef started several weeks ago and the food has only got better in my estimation. The service is very friendly and getting better every time I have been . I know the owners are new to... More

Arrived with two small children (8&3 yrs) at lunch time -immediately knew by the look we got from the owners that there were no tables available- they laughed when we suggested if we could get coffee and cake served in the outdoor area , instead offered us tickets for the garden ( kids go free) €16 for the privilege of... Took a drive out here of a Sunday on a whim. It's easy to find but found the price of €8 per adult, to see the gardens a bit on the expensive side. The gardens are lovely though, especially on a sunny day. What I found disappointing was that after the lovely walk, we went into the restaurant and looked... More

We had been huge fans of Burtown. It's takes us about an hour to get there but it was so worth it. We had high hopes for the new barn, perhaps too high. The once wonderful and interesting menu has been replaced with a dull version that can be found anywhere, the showcasing of the garden produce is non existent.... More

We enjoyed a lovely trip to Burtown on the May bank holiday weekend. Very short drive from Dublin. The gardens are maintained beautifully with a mix of wild and cultivated sections. The restaurant was lovely inside, very welcoming staff and nice interiors. The only disdappointment was the quiche which was really unacceptably small considering it is 14 euro. Not a... More

The service we received on our visit last Sunday was terrible. Staff seem chaotic. Even though there were plenty of them, they were not focused and seem to drift around serving lots of tables but not looking after any of them well. None of them were concerned that we were left waiting so long to be seated and then served... More

Our apologies for your disappointing experience and we are very sorry we did not make it to your table to acknowledge how badly your service was, we do try to make it around to our guests while working on the floor but unfortunately it doesn't always work out especially on busy Sundays. Thank-you for your feedback. More

We recently visited Burtown House & Gardens for a meal to celebrate the birthday of a family member. We had telephoned several days in advance to make a booking but despite this we were left standing around for over 30 minutes before they could secure a table for us. When seated, it was at the second request that water was... More

Firstly I've been going to Burtown House for the past three years and I've always been a fan, the food and gardens remain a delight. I was really excited about visiting the new Barn but they really need someone strong to manage front of house to help bring it all together. Initially we have to chase our drinks, 40 min... More

What a great fish pie👍🏽. Food was excellent, the kids loved it. Very fresh and staff were lovely. Weather was superb so the gardens looked great. They are young gardens so give it a few years when it's established, it will be a great place. We are planning our next visit soon.
