Beautiful restored castle in the square in Newcastle West, so much history and so much to learn. Guide was very interesting and entry was free. Lots to see in Newcastle West, lovely town.

We had a free (and private as there weren't any other guests) tour of the site and it was great. Our tour guide was really engaging and had many interesting and concise facts and stories to tell about the rooms, architecture, furniture and past owners....More

Im luck to walk through the castle most days but I did go on tour and was delighted with the helpful guide the gave us a great inside in to the castle and answered all our questions very well. Its also very nice to wander...More

Absolutely charming town and beautiful Desmond castle home of the Fitzgeralds. A great place to visit for a real Irish working town and lovely restaurants and shoppes.

It's one of Ireland's best preserved surviving medieval banquetimg halls , was used by the Earls of Desmond for banqueting and entertainment

Very interesting visit we had a free guided tour with Dave who was our fantastic guide with an impressive knowledge. We didn t had a lot of time on that day but we ll definitely come back.
