Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Guernsey, you are so lucky to have such an amazing library. It looks small, but like the TARDIS, there are hidden depths (and heights). An amazing building - fortunately there are lifts for those of us who aren't so good at stairs. At the moment there is the most wonderful exhibition celebrating 140 years of the library and its history which is amazing. And they are actively combatting period poverty and offering a safe warm space.

The staff are so friendly and the whole atmosphere feels so welcoming. Why not play with the Christmas jigsaw? It was such fun

This is an outstanding public library. It not only has a great selection of books, they have put considerable effort into creating an environment with restful areas for reading, particularly in the children’s area. It is simply nice to visit and walk around the old building to see how they have used the space. Visiting a library may not be on everyone’s to-do list but I was impressed with this place as a facility for the residents and enjoyed relaxing in here for half an hour or so.

An interesting building housing the library.
Also there are public toilets upstairs which are difficult to find in the town.
There is a beautiful painted stone bench on the stairs between floors. Also excellent free WiFi with a strong signal. The young lady in reception was very knowledgeable and helpful with local information.

For a population of approx. 60,000 people, this library is outstanding.
Good facilities ... from high quality photocopiers to quiet reading areas.
The staff are always helpful.
A peaceful ambience.

From the outside you might think this is a tiny little library, but this isn't the case with Guille-Alles Library! This well-stocked library has stairs that keeps going up and up (ps. there's a lift too)! Lots of floors with lots of books available and friendly staff on hand to help out where needed. Children can get a special treat and be guided on a treasure hunt within the library! What a great way to stimulate children and get them to read stories.

It's a great place to come and relax, but the book stock is pretty poor. The children's stock is very good, but the teenage and adult stock is very small. I would expect more from a library so widely known in the community.
