This is our favourite beach in Devon, if not the UK. Long stretches of sand almost as far as the eye can see, at the back of which is the beautiful Braunton Burrows. Yes it can busy in the summer months but only near to the car park and shop. Walk further away from these and soon you will feel... More

With the tide out the 3 miles of sands and dunes are huge. Parking it bit dear, but safer than road-side parking.

Had the privilege to drive with my SUV on the actual training beach of the Assault Training Center back in WWII to get a perspective of what the Americans had to achieve before landing in Normandy. Today, like Omaha and Utah beach in Normandy, it's a peaceful family sporting beach, lovely

Views across the estuary to Appledore and miles of walks amongst the dunes and beaches make this a special place. Small toll for access via a long and winding road but easy parking once you get there. No toilets.

it is a brilliant place for kiddies to play in dunes and go clambering amongs the rocks etc. and swim in the sea in warmer weather

Just stunning. We walked about 2Km along the beach and hardly saw anyone. Even had a picnic (in November!) sat by the beach huts. One of the nicest beaches I've been too.

Although I did not use the beach, it was lovely to sit in the saunton sands hotel grounds and watch the world go by, with surfers taking to the waves, and people walking their dogs, having a nice time. If however, you are a surfer, I'm pretty sure this beach is for you as it has quite big waves, and... More

Open space, clean, easy parking. We were there slightly out of season (Oct half term). Dogs allowed this time of year. Spectacular views...

Lovely sand beach that seems to go on forever, lots of space for dogwalkers and appeared very popular with the surfers.

Husband & I walked along this beach last weekend, & it was spectacular! It is just beach, so no shops, just several small cafe's where warm drinks/snacks can be purchased & a wide expanse of golden sand, sea & sand dunes. Be prepared to share the beach with surfers, of which there were numerous of all ages, so plenty of... More
