Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in Braunton on a rainy day and stumbled across the Countryside Centre. Our 2 year old enjoyed playing with the toy farm set and our nearly 5 year old enjoyed all the hands on activities- building a limpet tower, matching the animals to their habitats, finding local places on the light-up map, the touchscreen bat games!
I wouldn't make a special trip to visit, but if in the area it's worth popping in.
We made a donation but the center is free to enter.

This is a fantastic place to visit, especially with young ones. This is a treasure trove of information about wildlife - bursting with fully interactive and immersive exhibits that will keep little ones engaged and learning throughout. The staff are super friendly and really helpful. I really cannot recommend popping in highly enough. We thought we would spend 10-15 minutes in there.... ended up dragging the kids out after nearly an hour as our parking was about to run out!

A few more photographs of what went on during our visit. It was a looong day, before heading back to our hotel. The amusing thing was. That I used the Satnav for the car park.🤣 This took us approx two miles from the actual car park. As went were directed down a short winding country lane. Came to a T junction at the end, and according to Satnav, the Saunton Sands carpark was directly on our right!! 🤣 It wasn't, but a local farmers field was. The farmer put us right, by telling us to continue down the way we were facing for about a half mile onto a main road T junction, and there was a road sign point left to the Saunton Sands. Approx 1.5 miles on a straight drive. There on our left was a sign to the beach car park. The cost was £8 For all day, with a few shops immediately next to the gravel car park. We found the restaurant there to be quite expensive. As two breakfast meals of pancakes and bacon, and two lattes cost a phenomenal £23. Just be aware of that folks. With regards to the car park. Your picture is taken, and you pay when leaving. Clever technology being used here. When leaving just be careful. As the T junction main road at the exit is narrow, and depending on traffic, care needs to be taken. Especially if turning across oncoming traffic.

Lots of things to see and some interactive activities. Picture boards of the flora and fauna. Helpful, knowledgable staff. Well worth a visit if you want to know more about the Burrows and what you might see there.

Small attractive museum about the countryside round braunton. Informative displays. Lots of child engagement which goes beyond just pressing buttons eg large screen microscope, matching games, videos, fish tank. Friendly staff. Well worth an hour if you're in the area

A small but very interesting centre that is worth visiting, particularly with children. Excellent explanations regarding the local nature and in particular, about Braunton Burrows which are very worthwhile walking through.
