Welcome to Crag 2 Mountain, we are a family owned Adventure Activities Company based in South Devon on the edge of The Dartmoor National Park. We run a number of courses and taster days from Family Rock Climbing days, Mountain Expeditions to Kids Climbing Birthday Parties. We are also providers of the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) and the Mountain Training Hill & Mountain Skills Scheme

We had an amazing afternoon with guides, Connor and Isla. Both were super professional and made us all feel like we had achieved so much! I would certainly recommend this as an unforgettable adventure! (2 adults, children aged: 11, 13, 15 and 16).

We absolutely loved our day learning to trad climb with Baz in Dartmoor.
We are indoor climbers who had previously done one top rope session outdoors but wanted to learn more skills outdoors. When making the booking we discussed with Baz what we we
wanted to get out of the session and on the day he really tailored it to our skill level.
Baz really made us feel confident and safe in the new skills he introduced us to and we both lead our first trad routes and did a multi pitch route to end the day. We would absolutely recommend crag2mountain and hope we get another chance to book another course.

Our guide showed us some of the best routes to climb and tunnels to weazle through at the beautiful location of Hound Tor. It was absolutely amazing! Thanks again Connor!

A great day of climbing with Crag 2 Mountain at Dewerstone Rocks, Shaugh Prior. A fantastic introduction to outdoor climbing and abseiling for the kids (ages from 11 to 16). The damp weather certainly didn't interrupt play & there was lots of positive encouragement from their instructor, Connor. Would highly recommend!

So you CAN teach an old dog [even an old dog with very old kit] new tricks. Actually, not tricks but lots of top tips, expertly taught by Baz and [day1 ] Neil.

This was a great introduction to somewhat more advanced navigation techniques for those with existing knowledge of how to read a map. We focused on compass skills, learning how to take different types of bearing and use boxing to work around obstacles and return to our bearings. The course leader was supportive of differing abilities, allowing us plenty of opportunity to practice and helping us improve. The day was relaxed and really enjoyable, wiht plenty of off-path walking. One thing to consider is the impact of these courses on wildlife, particularly breeding birds when walking off-path during the breeding season.

Just a note on walking off paths during bird breeding season. It’s been shown that we have no greater impact than livestock roaming on the same area especially with farmers checking livestock via quad bikes.
There is currently no restriction other than nesting birds on certain climbing locations in the UK.
More information on human impact can be found on the various national park websites.

I had one day with Alicia doing a bespoke navigation course and one day with Barry doing a bespoke climbing course. I could not recommend both enough. I learnt so much, had so much fun and really enjoyed both of their company. Easy to talk to, listeners and really comfortable to be around.
I can't wait to do it again soon!

We did two sessions - caving and rock climbing. Both were really well organised, the instructor was friendly and engaging and great at encouraging everyone. My son loved both days. Would definitely come again

Just been on my third course with Crag 2 Mountain and they have all been excellent. The most recent one was the night navigation. It was a horrible misty night on Dartmoor, but I had a great time and learnt lots. Was much more fun than I expected! Felt very safe and have increased my confidence for navigating in poor visability.
