Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A. Little museum with lots of interesting things to see. The admission charge of £2.50 is very reasonable.,the staff are very knowledgeable and keen to tell you about the exhibits. The wash day exhibits and the chemist display bring back memories. Well worth a visit.

Visited here with my elderly father who uses a walking stick - although there are uneven floors and stairs - he managed to get around quite easily.
Very interesting place that holds lots of memories for people of a certain age and lots of interesting things for those younger.
It is not a huge place - so younger members will stay interested for the duration - but there is a lot to see and read.
The staff are lovely and friendly and knowledgeable and it was nice just to talk to them about their own memories and experiences.
We spent longer there because we were talking to the staff.
Really enjoyed the place

This little museum is full of info and artefacts pertaining to Exmouth’s history. The volunteer staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable. There is. £2.50 per person charge which is most reasonable considering the museum trust is proposing to buy the premises so they can secure its future. The attached cottage that was once occupied by an employee of the borough and his family is full of nostalgia. There is info on the several brick works, the lace marking, the coming of the railways, the effects of the war and the maritime heritage of the town. Well worth a visit and it’s nice and close to the town centre too.

This is a great little museum, staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. They have recently bought the building, so have to make a small admission charge, (but for an adult it is less than the price of a cappuccino!!). It is full of items of local history from engravings of Exmouth through the years to a ship's figurehead, to wartime memorabilia and children's toys. Definitely worth a visit.

The museum, run and curated by volunteers has a broad variety of different exhibits that showcase the local area throughout the ages. Everyone I met there was knowledgable and happy to talk about the museum, the town and seemed genuinely interested in the work they were doing. I'd highly recommend visiting. Its closing at the end of october to allow renovations and changes if exhibits but if you have to chance please visit.

So glad you enjoyed your visit. People should know that we intend some open days in the winter and that any family or group that would like to visit between 31 October and March next year can contact us for a special appointment for a donation..as long as the areas are safe.

The enthusiastic volunteers were very helpful on arrival, and I spent nearly an hour wandering around the museum. Among the displays there are interesting displays about the railway and the docks, and the development of tourism in the town which I found interesting. There are also a number of folders with additional information which are available for browsing. There are a few leaflets and booklets for sale.
There are plans to improve the museum and I think it deserves support.
