Delicious Ploughman's

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Burgh Island. The food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient. We'd definitely go again if we're in the area.

I has a Christmas Lunch there lunch last week, the food was really good, the Bayley's torte was yummmmmy, staff are welcoming and friendly. Lovely walk along the tidal road if you need to walk off your meal. We will be back even if just for a coffee.

i have passed this Inn many times in the past when on holiday in Devon, but never called at it, until 2016. All I can suggest is that it lacks care and needs some new investment to 'brighten ' it up. Lovely spot in an old traditional DEvon village with fairly ample car parking. Simple un complicated (unsophisticated and plain... More

There are more than a few eating places in the South Hams that are overrated IMHO; this most definitely is not one of them. Five of us went there for a drink and an evening meal, and everything went well from the off - starting with the fact that we could actually park outside. The staff were friendly and welcoming,... The hospitality at The Fisherman's Rest is outstanding. We visited it twice over the weekend and we could not have been looked after any better. The food was freshly cooked and delicious and we both loved the cider and lager. I wish I had local like this.

Unlike the Churchhouse in Churchstow this pub looks after the locals and stays open after 9:30 pm. The good beer and attractive barmaid is a bonus.

After a wet day in south Devon we decided to go from campsite for an evening meal as the sun started to shine after the rain. We went about two miles down the road from the ace campsite to a place called the Fisherman's rest. A large quiet village pub near the coast, the local carpark was also a boat... More

Nice place by the stream side, only stopped for drinks on our way through. Dog friendly & reasonably priced. Suitable for children too with a giant connect 4 for them to use.
