Take the underground tunnel to this secret smugglers cove. It is an experience in itself. Rumor has it that is Lord Clifford one of the original owners of The Ness enlarged his fortune by smuggling through this cove

We had just visited Shaldon Zoo and saw the signs for Ness Cove so wanted to have a look. We went through the tunnel and came out to some stunning views. The kids found a crab and had great fun paddling in the sea

Hidden around the corner is this tranquil cozy cove entered through an interesting tunnel you descend to the entrance above the cove. Would certainly recommend a visit if in the area.

This beach is great, especially if you’re a dog owner. Dogs allowed all year. Secluded and never crowded. Have often seen seals very close to the shore. Ample parking at the top of the tunnel onto the beach.

It can be a little slippery and has two sets of steps. Not wheel chair friendly.
