We called in as we were in the area without knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Quincey's Bee Centre is an excellent day out, we loved our time there and was highly impressed by the bee instructor, Steve. I'd recommend timing your arrival with first talk of the day to really make the most of it and then follow the beekeeper around through each of the sessions. We did this by chance. Also, go on a Sunday because the Sunday roasts in the cafe are incredible. This isn't your standard attraction cafe, it's Sunday-lunch-out-quality dining.
What an amazing review, thank you so much! We're also all loving the new name you've given us - we're usually known as Quince Honey Farm! :) We're so glad you enjoyed all the tours and talks and got so much out of your day. And to hear you appreciated the quality of the food in the Nectary Restaurant is wonderful and very gratifying for us. We hope you enjoyed your visit to the area and we hope to welcome you again one day. Kind regards, QHF

    Great day out
Great day out for our 18 month old and 2 dogs. Plenty to do and see and lots of play opportunities. Can’t take dogs into the soft play but there was a meadow walk so we could divide and conquer.
Thank you, we're so glad you had a great day with us. Kind regards, QHF

Been on the "to do" list
Well what can I say. Local family, been on the radar for a while especially after the younger 2 had been on previous school trips. The vist was informative, a great sunny day and lots to see and do. The restaurant is priced accordingly to an attraction. A good 4 hours to walk and listen. Steve the guide is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to sit and talk. The demonstrations where informative and well constructed. Overall a very good experience.
That's wonderful, thank you very much for your review. That's great to hear you enjoyed the tours and activities and had a day well spent with us. We hope to welcome you again one day. Kind regards, QHF

    Excellent and interesting visit
Excellent visit, the beekeeping demo and factory tour were very interesting and delivered by a knowledgeable and fun presenter. Tasting and making a candle followed by lunch in the restaurant. Nicely laid out. Only criticism is that the website and flyer don’t do it justice as you don’t know what’s on when, the schedule they give you on arrival should be on the website!
Hello, thank you for your review. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your day with us. The reason we don't advertise the times is that they change fairly frequently depending on the season and it allows us to be flexible. We hope that visitors to the Full Attraction will spend a good few hours with us, and as the activities are repeated throughout the day, that they will be able to attend all of them while with us. We hope to welcome you again one day. Thank you, QHF

    Fantastic Day Out
Never visited the sight before and what a joy it was as soon as we walked through the door to be greeted by a lovely friendly girl on the till and a huge array of beautiful honey/bee gifts etc. Excited already. We paid for the full tour £11 each including £1.50 to make a beeswax candle. The wild gardens are set out nicely with walkways and information labels explaining how important even the flowers in our own garden are to the bees and nature. Then you make your way to the first indoor talk with plenty of seating and enclosures where you can see different bees nests. Steve the bee keeper and 'bee' easily seen and heard through a wide glassed window. He was very informative with easy explanations and no jargon about the process of the bees making honey and beeswax. Very interesting to such an extent you could be easily tempted to have the opportunity and have a go at beekeeping at a tiny extra cost. The talks were the right length of time and spaced out so that you could have a 10 minute break to go onto the next talk but not miss out on anything. We then had a tasting honey session on rice paper which again was very well organised and informative. At the same time we handed our candle making voucher to make a beeswax candle. Looking forward to burning it at home. I love burning candles, but after this experience I will now be looking to burn beeswax candles. It's not a hurried visit with simple wall information posters, a short TV video to watch. you can also see through the windows the honey bottling process which I'd have love to see but they weren't working on the day we went. We continued to walk the small trail to the picnic area which looks like its' still in development. A large restaurant area for coffee and cake. We were lucky to get a table being a Sunday as the Sunday lunches are very popular with advanced booking. Overall, it was an amazing day and well worth visiting for adults and children. Thank you
Hello, thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your day with us. It sounds like you really made the most of it and spent time in all areas. That's great to hear you found the activities to be so informative. We have a fab Education Team here, who are fantastic at what they do and make the talks fun and engaging while being educational. We hope to welcome you again one day. Thank you, QHF

Educational, great restaurant and indoor play area. Kids love the experience.
There is a nice lady who explains the process of honey retrieval and you can watch the guy at work through the glass. It was very interesting. Other fascinating things to see are the inside of a hive and bees nesting in an old post box. The gardens are obviously full of pollinator plants for the bees. Large restaurant with large menu which you can stop and use without entering the main site. Very close to the 361 road so it’s a great stopover. EV vehicle chargers would be a real asset here. More info on how important bees are would be good and how we would starve without them. Maybe i missed that bit. You can roll a wax candle and plant some wild flower seeds. The shop has some really nice items and honey in many varieties . I can see that this is a valuable place for school trips etc. There is also a great indoor play area and outside playground. A great place for families. Well done Quince Honey farm!
Thank you very much. We're so pleased you found our tours to be so interesting and enjoyed exploring the attraction. We hope to welcome you back one day. Thank you, QHF

    A fun and interesting experience
Interesting and insightful tour around by Sue who explained the thought process behind the farm and some of the history too. Couldn’t make candles because of the time constraints but fortunately she let us know we could buy a kit to make some ourselves at home! Definitely better oriented for younger people/families but still interesting to those a little older. Overall friendly staff and cool experience just wish the time schedules for certain activities was obvious from the start.
Thank you for your review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your day with us. We do aim to be appealing to all ages and our team are experienced in presenting to all. We regularly attract adults without children, particularly outside of the school holidays, but that's interesting to hear your thoughts. We hand out timetables to our visitors on arrival and have morning and afternoon showings of the activities in the hopes that people can attend all those that interest them. We're sorry you didn't find the timings to be terribly clear. Thank you for your feedback, QHF

    Quality Venue
This is an excellent place to visit. We went on a rainy day and there is still much to see inside the many buildings on site. Honey tasting talk was good but the keeping bees talk was not tailored sufficiently to children. There is an excellent cafe and shop open to the public who aren’t visiting the honey farm. Lots of local workmen coming just for food is a good sign of its quality.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Our Education Team are all experienced in presenting the tours to different age groups, including young children, so that's surprising to hear you didn't think that the Beekeeping Demo was. We will be sure to look at that again. Thank you, QHF

    Miss the old honey farm!
I normally just pay for the soft play when I come here but today I decided to pay for the full attraction. I wish I hadn't as I didn't feel it was value for money for small children. We were looking forward to seeing the hives where you press the buttons and can see the bees up close like at the old Quince honey farm but they don't seem to be there anymore? Candle making was extra and a tour of the factory was not what we were after with young children. The soft play table we were sat at was so sticky that the kids' trail sheet ripped cause it was so stuck to it! The service in the soft play was dreadfully slow and very poor stock of ice creams. I've always loved coming to the honey farm bit I definitely won't be returning to the main attraction.
Hello, I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed by your visit to our new site. We do have display hives on show in the Bee Shed, one of which does have a push button to open it, and some hives in the Hexhibition building too where you can see lots of bees. This area is still in development and when completed it will be a fascinating display of the lifecycle of the honeybee and will have more display hives, as we had in our previous location. We do aim to be appealing for all age groups with our activities and facilities, and our Education Team are experienced in delivering the programme to all ages. We usually get very positive feedback on this, so that’s interesting to hear you didn’t find it as such. Did you attend any of the activities, or speak to a member of the team while you were with us? We would have been happy to help and give you some more information. We have actually reduced our admission prices for the summer of 2023, compared with 2022, in recognition of the increased cost of living and to make our attraction more accessible. The candle rolling is an additional charge to cover the cost of the wax strip and wick that is needed, and it is then a souvenir to take home and enjoy. We’re sorry you found the service slow in the Play Hive. We have been incredibly busy recently and our team have been working very hard in all departments. I will forward your comments onto our senior manager for review. Kind regards, QHF

    Amazing venue
We went fora day out to Quince Honey farm. Was worried about the kids enjoying it(age 12,10) but they loved it and found it very informative which is great for my 10year old who usually doesn't like these types of tours but also found a new love for the bees and is now not afraid. So i think its great for understanding how Bees are. We did the taste test and i now have a new love for honey (never had it before only on gammon ha ha) The restaurant is amazing had the cream of mushroom soup which tasted amazing. The gift shop is lovely and worth every penny for the beautiful gifts.
Hello, thank you for your lovely review. That's wonderful to hear that your child has found a new appreciation for bees and is no longer scared of them, and that you have discovered a new taste for honey - fantastic! We're so pleased you all enjoyed your day. Kind regards, QHF

Can only comment on the shop and restaurant as we didn't have time to do the tour.
The food was really very good quality and reasonably priced. Caramel latte was lovely.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
We also bought honey in the shop after tasting a couple of different samples.

An absolutely first class attraction! We popped in to the restaurant for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. The children’s jacket potato was “scrummy” (a direct quote)! It’s brilliant that you can take your dog in with you - can’t recommend this venue highly enough.

We visited the honey farm on route to our holiday destination as we left early to avoid bank holiday queues and were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to do. We visited once before in the afternoon and they recommended paying for entry on a day we could come earlier. I’m glad we waited as there were lots of talks and exhibitions to look at.

Each talk is repeated twice per day so we were able to attend all of them. There was an Easter egg treasure hunt and our child got both a creme egg and some Haribo Easter sweets which I thought was generous and a lovely surprise bonus. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant and I was pleased they had several gluten free options. All staff members (reception, restaurant and those doing talks) were friendly and the people doing the talks were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We stayed a lot longer than expected and it was a wonderful start to our holiday instead of waiting to check in at a less interesting venue!

Visited today.
Out for a walk in the area and thought a cup of coffee would be nice. Rang QHF and checked we could take the dog👍 but were told no hot drinks after 3:45. A little early but this is the UK!
We arrived at 3:40 and the cafe had some customers seated but the serving area was unmanned. We waited a while and could hear happy voices in the kitchen, so I went to the door and asked if a coffee was possible please.
I was greeted with a glare and a big ‘HUFF!’ and several pointed looks at the big wall clock! (still well before 3:45)
We had 2 nice coffees and tasty cake accompanied by more servings of huff and puff! Seems like we were an inconvenience at the end of the day!
Such a shame to be treated this way when spending hard earned cash.

Hello, we're very sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience. We usually receive a great deal of praise for our customer service. We close the restaurant at 4pm as we have found that it currently makes more business sense for us to do so. We always aim to make our customers feel welcome, however, and would never intend to rush them. Your comments will be passed onto the management team to look into. If you would like to leave us any further feedback, please do contact us directly on hello@quincehoneyfarm.co.uk Kind regards, QHF

We visited here today with my little one and husband, who weren’t overly keen on visiting a bee farm.
They both left saying they absolutely loved it!
We paid for the tour which includes everything.
We started with the tour and the guide was amazing, you can tell how passionate she was.
There was lots to do in each room, a personal favourite was seeing the honey hanging from the hives.
You get to taste a few different types of honey too which was handy when choosing what to buy in the gift shop after. The gift shop was reasonably priced and ended up walking away with a little gift for myself.
I would recommend paying an extra £2 for the wax candle making. Can’t wait to light them.

I would love to come back in spring when we can see the bees in action!

Fantastic! We initially booked for a Sunday lunch (8 of us) food and service was spot on, lovely! We then browsed the farm shop and stocked up on jam, chutneys and gifts for friends. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outside area (wellies in the rain!) and the indoor soft play centre! What’s not to like?! Thanks so much for a lovely day out we will return! Big thank you and shout out to the lovely Christine who very kindly mailed our daughter’s coat to us after she left it! <3

I would have rated this venue 5 if it wasn’t for the appalling state of the roads to the venue
We went for a Santa experience. The elf and Santa were excellent just brilliant actually. Highly recommended . My two grandsons 7 & 5 really great experience for them. We went Saturday 9th December.
We’d already had a lovely late breakfast which was delicious very large Q which took a while. Lovely staff and very clean / tidy location one of our favourites actually. Shame the loyalty card for breakfasts has discontinued probably causes us to go elsewhere as well now.
Then went to the play hive which was great too. Although toilets not checked regularly enough as 2 of the 3 toilets had no loo roll.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are delighted to hear you and your grandsons enjoyed the Santa's Grotto so much. It's been very popular and we love seeing the children having such a happy time. Santa and his Elf are having a great time too! We're glad you also enjoyed the restaurant and the Play Hive. We will pass your comments on to the team about the toilets. They are usually checked regularly. We're sorry about the driveway. We are very aware of this and do try to keep on top of it, unfortunately the persistent rain we've had means efforts to maintain it are swiftly washed away. We will keep working away at it and look for better solutions. Many thanks, QHF
