Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A proper mix of things and stuff, from food to antiques, pet needs etc. Have a cuppa and chat with locals and it's all under cover so if you're experiencing a delivery of Devons finest (rain) it's a great place to explore and stay dry,
Go and enjoy

Attended the very well run South Molton Flea Market yesterday which had such a wonderful selection of stalls including vintage, new, hand-crafted, food (bought beautifully handmade jams and preserves by South Furze Farm and food from The Exmoor Feasting Company and coffee from the cafe in the market, all excellent) and a great atmosphere. So good to see such a well supported event as it was very busy. They offer free parking, free entry and clean toilets with a handy cash dispenser just by the entrance meant it was easy to get cash but quite a few stallholders took cards. The Flea Market is usually on the first Sunday of the month but the main market is on Thursdays and Saturdays (again, excellent) and there are plenty of other events organised by the market team as well as people hiring for their own events - always something going on! South Molton is lucky to have such a wonderful space in the centre of their town.

Regular at the Flea Market run by Mel and her team. Wonderful location and lovely people running it. Flexible, caring and genuinely wanting everyone to have a good time. I’m not the least critical person ever so they have truly deserved this praise!

We absolutely love the weekly market and made our first visit to the flea market last month which was brilliant. Loads of interesting items and choice. We left with a big haul of treasures and will definitely be back for the next one!

Great Salvage Fayre , Flea Market Very Poor !
Salvage fare very well organised and good but do not like Flea Market , in my opinion more like a village fete with too many people selling jams / marmalades Etc , on the other hand Salvage Fayre / market is well organised & is full of interesting vintage / antique items .

Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area. Lots of stalls selling local produce , craft , collectibles and clothing. Small cafe on site and a mobile food van called Wings and Things who served the most amazing bacon and Brie toasted sandwich.

Some very good stalls, particular mention to the lovely couple who make the pens and notepads, which we bought as a gift for a family member. They are fantastic, highly recommend. Some stalls that sold food were disappointing as the food wasn’t covered. Didn’t fancy buying food that had been sat out in the open for several hours. The coffee van was very disappointing. Rude staff and disgusting coffee.

We visited on holiday, fab little market with plenty of lovely things to buy! Bought a lovely gift from the mosaic lady and we all had a lush cake from the cake stall.

Visited the market whilst visiting the area. Plenty of good quality produce ranging from fruit and veg, plants, bakery goods and many other stalls. For us the lady on the homemade fudge stall was a delight as was her excellent fudge. An excellent card stall with a huge variety of good quality cards at a range of prices was a real plus, and again the owner was very helpful and a real pleasure to converse with.
All in all the market was a great place to spend an hour or so.
Check out the The Lazy Daisy Cafe which does excellent food, cake and coffee and is only a minute walk from the market.

First time visit to South Molton, whilst on a tour of North Devon, mainly to visit the Thursday Market housed in an old building, very much like the one we visited In Barnstaple earlier in the week. Being "townies" from the North of England, we enjoyed its rustic feel and mixture of food, crafts, and bric a brac stalls. My wife found some stalls selling various items, she felt would make good presents, also bought some wool & essential oils made locally. Found the Farmers Market stalls also appealing. Despite the continuing Pandemic rules, we were able to enjoy the atmosphere, even though there was only about 65% of the place occupied with stalls; I gather the Saturday Market, much more busier. Took it upon ourselves to have a look round the town afterwards, and enjoyed some of the old Georgian architecture and nice feel about this pleasant country town on the edge of Exmoor. Also enjoyed the visit to the nearby Sheep Market, found the auctions quite fascinating. Well worth a visit if in the area on Market day. Good parking facilities too.
