Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a brilliant museum full of informative displays. Taking you through the history of the area. A wide range of artefacts makes it suitable for everyone. From farm equipment, skills, tools, kitchen, handicraft, wartime the displays go on and on. Culminating in a full size steam engine that you can climb on board and sound the whistle. Highly recommend. Suitable for everyone.

Absolutely brilliant. A hidden gem tucked away in mid Devon.Took my granaughters (aged 7 an 9) and had a wonderful two hours. Excellent dressing up and games for children and the local history presentations are first class. Displays end with stunning railway exhibition and you can pull the horn on a real train!

We brought a small group of families, all with children with both sight loss and other disabilities, to the museum. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and volunteers. The museum was excellent - full of interesting exhibits but also SO much for the children to do. Very hands on. It made it very worthwhile. Top marks for accessibility, child friendliness and staff support. We were really impressed. Thank you for a lovely day.

We're very glad you're a fan of the museum. Unfortunately, running costs and reliance upon volunteers means that opening more than 5 days a week isn't feasible for us at the moment. We are a registered charity and soaring costs are presenting challenges for us at the moment. We hope to welcome you back soon!

A great experience for all ages. We have just spent a a good 2hours wandering around the Tiverton Museum. All exhibits are clearly identified with information.
We have never seen so many working carts in one place. The old steam engine was in great conditions with things on it that children could play with (or grandparents).
The Museum holds much more than you imagine. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It's well worth a visit.

On a wet afternoon we decided to visit Tiverton museum with my parents and husband. Having lived in tiverton for many years and now moving away It had been a number of years since I had visited. The exhibits were plentiful and in great condition. The staff were very helpful and friendly- a great stop for all the family!

A lot bigger than it looks from outside. Lots of stuff over two floors and in another building outside.
High points for me were the steam engine and the fire engine. Good displays on farming and on domestic life (kitchen gallery etc). Felt a bit old seeing the old toys/books downstairs as I had some of them!
Very conveniently located for both central car park and bus station. Would definitely recommend if visiting Tiverton.

Hi Karen, Unfortunately only assistance dogs are allowed in the museum itself. If you're happy to 'park' your dog in the shade by the entrance or in our yard area we can provide a water bowl.
With best wishes, Pippa
