About
Woolacombe Surf Centre is Woolacombe's highest rated & qualified surf school / water sports provider! Professionally run & based in the heart of Woolacombe, North Devon. WSC is accredited as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by Surfing England, the highest attainable level. All our coaches are fully qualified instructors & beach lifeguards with many years coaching experience with a true passion for surfing and watersports. We operate our surf lessons on the beautiful Woolacombe Beach, awarded the best beach in the UK 2015 & 2016. With 3 miles of golden sand facing the Atlantic we have a great learning environment for surfing. Our kayaking and coasteering trips are hosted on the breathtaking coastline of North Devon. We also offer top quality surf hire equipment, from surfboards, bodyboards, wetsuits right through to stand up paddle boards (SUP'S) and kayaks. All sessions are 2.5 hours long which include all equipment required and coaching throughout, we also take photos (FREE) with our in water camera to immortalise you finest surfing moments!

My granddaughter had a couple of days surfing and had a great time. She would have gone every day if she could. Very friendly staff who gave great guidance and ensured a fun packed day.

The guys at Woolacombe Surf School are amazing! Friendly, fun, and great instructors. Our son's been with them before and came back for more. He's really enjoyed every session he's had with them and you can see him getting better (and even more stoked!) with every lesson.

Brilliant really brilliant and well worth doing in Woolacombe
The facilities are excellent, lovely shop and changing area, really friendly staff. The instructors are great with the kids, patient, encouraging, kind and funny. Very attentive to everyone that they are training and in the water they are helping everyone constantly.
By the end of the lesson you will be standing on the boards!! The instructors take photos also during the session, and load them into FB so you get a great record of all the action in the sea! The perfect activity to do if staying locally or as a birthday treat, which is why we were there. Thank you to Gary, Zoe and all the team for making Ralphs day so special.

Excellent introduction to surfing. Genuinely friendly team, great advice and personal individual feedback.
Only got one blurry photo of me but maybe I fell in too much.
Big shout out to Parry, a local legend and great guy. He should win the thing he asked us to say he should win.

We had the most amazing time with Woolacombe Surf Centre! We were a last minute booking with the lovely Tom after a spur of the moment decision while down on holiday, and we couldn’t have made a better choice!
We had a warm welcome on arrival and the team seemed really happy to see us which was lovely! We were the only two booked in for that morning session which was a stroke of luck as it meant we benefited from personal tuition. The conditions were gorgeous and the equipment was immaculate!
I was completely new to surfing and my partner Ash had done it a few times before, but regardless of our ability level, the lesson was tailored to exactly the right degree of help and support! Ash was quite happy after refreshing her memory on how to do everything and was standing up on her board in no time, whereas I needed a little more help! Tom was only too happy to oblige and with his patience and chilled out demeanour I was able to get on my feet to catch a few waves too (even eventually managing to do it on my own a bit later on!).
We loved every second and haven’t been able to stop talking about it - we both agree that it was the highlight of our trip! We’re already planning our next trip back and will definitely be stopping by again! The free photos were an added bonus (even if one of them is me bailing spectacularly!).

Great lesson, learnt everything I felt I needed to know to begin surfing. Friendly environment and the lesson was well structured by our instructor Enya. Lots of time for practice and feedback to help us improve. Very reasonable price and had lots of fun. Thank you.

Great surfing experience! With clear instructions from staff I managed to catch a few waves on day one! On the second day I practiced standing up and the brilliant Ted did a good job explaining it to me. Great free pictures are a pleasant bonus! I recommend Woolacombe Surf Center to all beginners!!!

Just had a 2 hour surf lesson with Ted and Luke, what a great time. Guys were great and gave us a good understanding of how to surf and regular tips to improve throughout our time on the water. Will be heading back very soon.

Hi is it possible to just book for a taster/fun first time lesson if you understand we are down on holiday whitsun and i know 3 of my grandkids would love to try they are all swimmers
