Wonderfull time fossil hunting at Charmouth on 18 November with Martin as our guide, the children aged 7 and 9 who really enjoyed it (no quarrels at all) however I think the 4 adults enjoyed it even more, we all found numerous fossils of various kinds.
Martin is really knowledgeable and he explained what we were looking for, how and where to find them, most importantly the safe way of doing it what's more he has a great sense of humour even the kids were totally immersed.
We had tried fossil hunting before to no avail but now having been instructed so thoroughly, we now consider ourselves 'novice' professionals (to quote Martin).
I would encourage anybody who fancies fossil hunting to join one of these walks it's a great day out.

Martin was brilliant! His enthusiasm and knowledge of fossils and the area was exceptional! My partner gifted this to me as we had both been fossil hunting together in the past. Martin took this to a whole new level, showing us the best places to look, what to look for and most of all helping us find some incredible pieces! We were blown away by the day and came away with some amazing fossils. I would definitely recommend this as a fun day out with the family or just for yourself. Thank you VERY much Martin 😊

Martin is an excellent fossil guide - he shared some great tips on what to look for and then took us out on a fossil walk. Within minutes we found some wonderful ammonites and the headed down the beach looking for the right rocks to crack. We’ve been fossiling for several years now and Martin has added a great deal to our knowledge. He is also really good fun.

I got this as a gift for my partner who is a bit of a fossil enthusiast. Martin was fantastic! incredibly thorough, great company and very knowledgable. We had a fantastic day and learnt so much. We even went back the next day and managed to find some amazing finds with all the skills we had learnt on our course! Highly, highly recommend for anyone looking for a great fossil experience on the Jurassic Coast!

We went on a fossil walk with Martin on the recommendation of a friend. We weren't disappointed. Martin is highly knowledgeable and very entertaining and professional and with his help we found quite a haul of small fossils and learned a lot in the process. recommend highly

Had a fabulous tour with Martin Curtis, really made all the safety stuff clear and interesting. Made the 'clues' for what to look for clear and memorable, was really engaged throughout the whole process and really revelled in any find I came across. Martin seems genuinely excited to get others excited about the learning and the finding. It was also clear to see others who had done tours with him feeling able to show their finds and enjoy sharing those with me too - really memorable day, as was the next with the weight of my bag!

Martin was 10/10, very personable and friendly! We learnt so much on the morning experience and found more fossils than expected. We’ve come away with skills to keep using and are becoming professionals. The jokes were a bonus, Thankyou!

From our first contact, we were really impressed - full details of the tour, logistics and meeting point were provided. Martin was prompt and professional throughout, even more impressive considering we booked at relatively short notice.
The tour itself was 3 hours - one hour of instruction and two hours of Fossiling. I must admit, we were a bit sceptical when informed there was an hour of instruction before the walk, but it was well worth it and interesting throughout (even our one year old daughter was happy throughout the training with a few snacks!). Martin, spent lots of time helping us to train our eyes to spot fossils (one of the most important parts of Fossiling at Charmouth), making us aware of safety concerns and teaching us how to choose the best time for a safe and productive second visit.
By the time we hit the beach, Martin had filled us with confidence and helped us to apply our knowledge. We were really lucky to find a range of different fossils both with Martin’s help and on our own.
We’re now much more confident about continuing to fossil hunt in the future and that’s all down to Martin’s instruction and patience. So, more than just a tour, he helped to make us fossil experts!

If I could give more than 5/5 I would do! Our guide Martin was amazing - Such a knowledgable, funny and positive person! We haven’t done anything like this before and it was delivered in a way which was easy to understand and fun. Found way more fossils than we expected. Thanks Martin for inspiring what will now be our new hobby! 😊

This tour was outstanding! Our guide Martin, explained what type of fossils we would be looking for on the Charmouth coast. The first hour was a thorough explanation of the fossils found in the area & how these fossils were born. After a short break, we looked for fossils for the remaining 2 hours. After our tour, Martin gave us the ability to look for & find fossils for the remaining 3 days of our trip in the Charmouth area. Thank you Martin for giving us the skills to become professional fossil hunters!
