A free museum that was very interesting, showing lots of fossils and the history of the area. Would have enjoyed the fossil walk but when we arrived we were too late.

Make this your first stop when visiting the Jurassic coast, learn about fossils, book fossil hunting trips and more or just take a dip in the lovely, clean water. The coastal path is well worth a walk for the challenges and stunning views.

The museum upstairs is small but some great stuff. We went on a fossil walk which had a really good introductory talk about fossils, the different periods of life from Triassic onwards and how to find fossils followed by a fossil hunt on the beach....More

Belemnites and Ammonites mostly, if you go to the Heritage centre first the volunteers will show you what they are and which rocks and areas to find them.. Be careful near the cliffs as they can fall at any time,
