We often spend Saturday morning in the Wimborne area and almost always go into Kingston Lacy and do a swift walk round the grounds before returning home. The kitchen garden is a favourite, The house was superb at Christmas with it's festival of Christmas lights, it was very special indeed.

A great day out for everyone. Lots of exercise and fresh air with a chocolate egg to end the day - gets no better than that!

House with outstanding artworks! Gardens with an outstanding variety of planting. Plus Kitchen Gardens, Home Farm, Bluebell woods, Restaurant etc. Allow plenty of time, or revisit frequently?

We love this National Trust house there is so much to do. We always head for the kitchen garden, have a coffee and a cake, then feed the pigs. You can buy food for them for 50p. Then our 4 year old plays on the tractors and then we walk around the gardens. You can take dogs in but not... More

A house crammed full of paintings, furniture and other artefacts. Amazing architecture particularly fantastic ceilings. Extensive grounds to walk. You can't take in everything on one visit. Very informative staff.

Went around the grounds here as it was a dry and mostly sunny day. Plenty to see, and pleasant enough with the blossom on the trees. It's a peaceful place and quite restful, despite all the walking!

The outside of the building is pretty amazing but it can't prepare you for the feast of outstanding craftsmanship that went into the design of the house over the centuries. It was so lovely to have so many personal effects from the previous owners to complete the story of the house. It truely was a rare gem of a property.... More

We came here because we were staying in Poole for a week and we are national trust members. We were really impressed with the woodland walk, our 4 year old loved it. There are numerous play areas for children young and older to enjoy. The gardens were just gorgeous and so well kept. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.... More

Had a good day out here. The house is very impressive and staffed by people who are interested in their subject and happy to share their knowledge. We went a little early in the year for the gardens to be at their best but may return later in the summer.

I didn't visit the house because it was closed at the time but I did take a walk around the grounds, which are superb and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to take a break and have a sit down. The Japanese tea garden is delightful and also the kitchen garden where there are different types of pigs to... More
