    Lunch in Anstruther
Day trip to Anstruther from St Andrews. Nice small town, lovely harbour and some very old traditional boats being maintained and sailed by the volunteers of the museum. Very popular town for lunch at one of the fish and chips cafes.

    Beautiful location
This vibrant small fishing town has something for everyone. We loved the harbour with the fishing boats to look at, the shops where you can buy all sorts of goodies and the cafes, pubs and restaurants. It was busy as it obviously a popular destination for locals and tourists alike but there was parking available for everyone. A great] place with a stunning harbour.

    Great wee harbour
Great wee harbour just sitting people and boat watching, or even going out in a boat after buying tickets to go to the Isle of May. Couple of museums at the front to look over too. Yeah really enjoyed it with the fish and chips.

Anstruther is a beautiful small town with a lovely harbour. Sit & watch the boats coming & going, eat fab food from the many restaurants & bathe in the Scottish sunshine on a good day! Lots to see & when we visited during lockdown it was pleasantly quiet so it was easy to grab a good vantage point for people watching. Only disappointment was that we didn’t find a fish shop to buy the locally caught seafood to take home to cook.

One of the favourite stop-offs on the Fife Coastal Path, this was once, in its heyday, a bustling fishing port that is now much quieter due to the decline in fishing. Still has some fishing and plenty of traces of its fishing heritage. Very picturesque and a number of dining and drinking opportunities too.

This is the largest town on the Neuk. It is always too busy and although nice is not as quaint as the others. Choc full of eateries and pubs, anstruther is tourist heaven. Its very accessible from St Andrews university town and has the royal seal of approval from Wills and Kate. They went there many times whilst studying at St Andrews. The final village Crail will also have to wait for another day.😳

This attractive fishing village is probably one of the most popular in the East Neuk of Fife, as it’s full of character, with an alluring buzz about it. It caters admirably for visitors , with a large fee-charging car-park along the front, and an array of welcoming cafes, restaurants, gift-shops, bars, ice-cream shops, and award-winning fish and chip eateries in bustling Shore Street. There are plenty attractions in the vicinity; the Scottish Fisheries Museum, the Lifeboat Station, the Dreel Halls, the Shell House, and the star of the show is of course the vibrant 19th century harbour, thronged with an assortment of fishing boats and pleasure craft. Walk along the piers to get a good view overlooking the vivacious village, and when the tide’s out there’s a respectable small beach to explore. For a perfect ending to your visit - a fish supper “en plein air” will round it off nicely ( but don’t let the seagulls see you!)

Another picturesque harbour along the Fife Coastal Trail. This one has plenty of cafes and restaurants, and a well break from all the walking on the trail. It was low tide when we arrived, it it wasn't as pretty without any boats.

A lovely ex-fishing village, now full of cafes, restaurants and other places, including a fascinating fisheries museum (a must visit). Great sea views.
