The Ainster gowf course is only 9 holes so you play it twice. The course is very good and different than most courses. The World famous par 3 "The Rockies" is certainly tough & a par there is almost impossible! There are a few other good holes but you will need decent legs for the hills! Enjoy!

The third course on our trip round Scotland - chosen because it has the hardest par 3 hole in the UK and boy what a hole! It's called the Rockies - you tee off from an elevated tee over a huge knee high rough area down a pencil slim fairway to the green. Oh, and the jagged rocks of the... More

Played the course on a lovely evening. The member were very friendly and gave loads of tips on how to play the course, which were invaluable. Even though we played it for the infamous par 3 the rest of the course is also a true test of golf. With holes 5 6 7 especially hard. We decided to stop off... More

One of the best 9 hole courses I have played, with some stunning and challenging holes. Play to your handicap here and you have knocked it round extremely well. Nice clubhouse with all usual facilities.

This course punches way over its weight on many levels. beautifully kept and well run course, only 9 holes, but some are tricky. The famous 5th hole, the Rockies needs a skilful touch.Good clubhouse to come back to for food or a drink. Very friendly staff and members.

I quite enjoyed this little course. Be prepared for some steep climbs, but also for some lovely views. The par 3 fifth (voted Britain's hardest par 3 in 2007) is definitely a little extreme, but was fun as a one-off. I'm glad I don't have to face that hole every day!
