Donald at New Wave has been GREAT at bringing my son on with his surfing. It's a great sport anyway but you won't go wrong by looking at what New Wave has to offer

Had an excellent time with the New Wave surf school. Great lesson from Donald with clear and simple instructions on easy to use boards. East beach was a magical spot, for an excellent first time out on the surf, would highly recommend.

We are three compete beginners. Two teenagers and one old git. Our instructor was friendly and relaxed from the start. He got us, and one other family, kitted out with wet suits and boots, then it was a short walk and a wade across the river to the perfect sandy beach. We had the beach, and the waves, all to ourselves. We were given a quick instruction on how to 'catch a wave' and some basic safety stuff before heading in to the waves. We had 10 minutes to find our barrings and practice coasting in on our bellies, then it was back to the beach for instruction on how to stand up on the board. Once we had been shown the technique on the beach we went back in the water to try it out. Our instructor was great, he was very attentive, giving personalised advice to each of us to help improve our attempts to get up out of the water. All of our group managed to stand up on the board at some point during the session and we all finished with a big smile. Once back to the 'surf shack' we peeled off our wet suits and took advantage of the changing rooms. A great way to spend the morning on the beach and two happy and tired teenagers.

Donald was patient doing the lesson and we all had a good play in the waves. We were tired by the end of the 2 hours. A lovely session.

Excellent and friendly instructor. He was very patient with this 'silver surfer' and the rest of our group over 2 days of lessons.
