Just back from this two day course at Largs. Completely recommended for either powerboat beginners or those with experience but wanting to improve and / or build on experience and knowledge. 3 pupils on the boat with an instructor ... we had different instructors each day but both were fantastic. Lots of time devoted to planeing, mooring, anchoring, maneouvres, etc.... More

Fantastic experience. The scenery was amazing. Our instructor Pavlina was very knowledgeable and made us all feel comfortable and capable. Cannot praise her enough for all the guidance and the time she took to explain things. In addition Pav was an excellent cook and really made sure we all enjoyed ourselves. Our group will be back for further courses and... More

Great week of sailing on the Firth of Clyde gaining competence and confidence as part of a crew of 6: 3 competent crew, 2 day skipper and our instructor Gwynn Phillips a man with the patience of a saint and an easy manner. Felt like a holiday, but picking up instruction sometimes without even realising it at the time. Great... More

Brilliant tuition from Pavlina on a 5 day course. Was on the course with 4 guys and Pav and we all had a brilliant time thanks to her. Good sailing experience and learned so much, with some excellent scenery on the way. Would definitely recommend.

Ignore the review about poor hygiene and safety, this is a sailing course. You cook for the group. If your hygiene standards are different, cook, don't let others do it. The Bavaria 36 I was on was fully equipped with all safety equipment needed. The instructor was superb (Sally Gregory) and the whole week well organised. The aim of these... More

Poor client service. Poor hygiene and comfort onboard. Most important however was poor standard of safety equipment onboard and general maintenance of this rickety Bavaria 37 ft. An RYA certified institution should know better, I would expect.

I sent my husband on a Day Skipper course as a Christmas present. As mentioned elsewhere, communication with Scotsail before the course was not always easy. Although he thoroughly enjoyed the course, this was thanks to an excellent instructor and the fact that he was very fortunate to be with 4 other students who all got along extremely well as... More

good standard of tuition, good equipment. Only downside was a wrong mix of students on my boat causing my course to have to run an extra 3 hours longer than scheduled in order to complete the course. Beautiful sailing area.

We've just completed the Compenent Crew and Day Skipper course, very informative. Booking was very straight forward. I was very nervous about sailing before we went but I am a lot more confident with sailing since gaining my compenent crew and we are looking forward to planning our next trip. Very enjoyable week, thank you Scotsail.
