FREE ADMISSION - CLOSED 1 NOV-29 FEB Opened to the public in 1980, Corrigall Farm Museum is a traditional 'but and ben' house. It portrays a typical Orkney farmhouse and steading in Victorian times - late 19th Century. The working barn and grain kiln, horse-drawn machinery and livestock make for an interesting visit for children and adults.

OK, I went on this to keep the younger element of the party happy. My low expectations blown out of the water. This was the most charming attraction of the holiday. We got to see sheep and hens, and Henry the Horse 🐴 came to...More

This, like Kirbuster museum, is a small but special museum. It takes you back in history showing you how people lived, and farmed, many, many years ago. It shows us how our ancestors worked and lived and the conditions they lived in. Due to it...More

This museum is trapped in the 19th century, it gives the impression that the farmer left this world leaving behind another World. It is untouched or appears to be. The buildings and the effects are brought to life by the guide with demonstrations and objects....More

One of a couple of farm museums on the Island, this is the smaller and less grand of the pair. Despite the fact that it has been rebuilt and that most of the contents have been brought in from elsewhere, it has a real atmosphere,...More

An interesting series of buildings that are free to enter and give you a very good idea of what life was like in a 19th century Orcadian farm. Worth the short drive from the main road.

This free farm museum is a bit off the beaten track though well worth the effort if you have a car. Laid out in 19th century restored farm buildings with plenty of authentic artefacts of farm and domestic life. Car park and toilets provided.

Excellent collection of Orkeny Chairs. It was like a time capsule including a peat fire. You could spend 30-45 min-2 hours here depending on how much you read and photograph chairs. It was one of my favorite things I did in Orkney...and its free, so...More

I go to Corrigall once in a while. It's always interesting - my mum was brought up in a farm workers cottage in Orkney and a lot of what's here would have been familiar to her. It is laid out beautifully. The custodians can tell...More
