This archaeological site lays in a beautiful location, overlooking the sea. One of the oldest sites in Scotland, well worth a visit. If you do, please be mindful. This site has been around for generations lets keep it for more to come.

This is a great site to visit - remote, beautiful and isolated. Worth finding a spot out of the wind in the sun, and sit on the comfy, soft grass!!

We travelled over from Westray for the day, the weather turned torrential but we adored it anyway. Older than skara brae, free and totally awesome. If you like amusements arcades and fun fairs avoid.

Your own private Scarra brae. No one else arround. One main house with a workshop on the side. Better than Scarra brae because you're on your own, but it's not as big.

Having been to Skara Brae and was impressed I was surprised that the building on Papa Westray was even older. It's in the same good condition but in an area at the bottom of a field with only a small notice board.

The Knap of Howar consists of two Stone Age dwellings in very good preserved condition. It sits right above the rocks and the sea, though at one time the sea was far away - it has come closer and closer over the years. In good...More
