We had an absolutely wonderful day fly fishing with Neil and would thoroughly recommend to anyone, no matter what level of skill you currently have. We were a mixed ability couple, myself having zero experience, but Neil was incredibly patient with the knack of explaining things in a way that made you able to learn very quickly. We both caught more than a fish that day, having left with the bug to continue to learn the art of fly casting. Thanks so much to Neil for being an all round amazing guide. Great company, excellent teacher and got some awesome pictures of us too!

A great team of guides who worked tirelessly to find fishable water in tricky weather. They not only had that challenge to overcome, but also dealt easily with a group that had a range of fly fishing skills from beginner upwards. Couldn't recommend them more. Tight lines. Jim

We book this fishing trip pre-COVID and had to cancel two times before we could get to Scotland in June this year. It was definitely worth the wait. I wanted a guided trout fly fishing experience for my wife who hadn't fly fished before and for me to spend some time on a beautiful Scottish river fly fishing. Neil did a great job, the venue was beautiful on the river Tummel and he was very attentive and patient teaching my wife the art of fly casting. I learned a lot from Neil also, including many things about Scotland we didn't know. It was a great day on the water and we will definitely be back.

I can highly recommend Fishinguide Scotland for a great guided fishing day. Duncan was a very good guide and a wealth of knowledge about fish biology, behavior, and river ecology. Thanks to Duncan's patience, I learned a new way of casting. The fishing was a little slow but still a lot of fun.

We had a great day with Neil involving a hike to a remote hill loch and then our first experience of fly fishing. Location was stunning, the weather didn't play ball so we were pretty soaked when we returned at the end of the day and we only had a few bites all day. However, despite not catching we had a great day a beautiful location. Neil was a great guide with excellent communications prior to our trip and it was a real pleasure to spend the day with him.

My family has enjoyed the most magical three days courtesy of Duncan at Fishinguide Scotland. All novices, he had us up a fishing in no time and quietly teaching all the time without too much fuss. The equipment and instruction was first rate. Nothing too much trouble. We cannot thank you enough and highly recommend to others. We look forward to returning again soon and will plan the next trip around fishinguide availability!
Many thanks

Many thanks for your kind review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time on the river, and sorry that the weather was so unseasonably cold. Hopefully we can welcome you back to Scotland some other time when the weather gods are smiling!

All round great service delivered efficiently and with an appreciation that I was on holiday and out to enjoy the day. The guide was friendly, relaxed, good company, interesting and highly knowledgeable. The guide knew the water, knew where to go and was an excellent fisherman who shared my excitement at finding and catching fish.

We had the most amazing 2 fishing trips with Duncan on our recent road trip to Scotland. Our first trip was to fish for Salmon, Brown, and Sea trout and we found ourselves in the most idyllic, secluded spot inland with no other soul in sight. We spent a good deal of time on the loch in a boat casting in and then some time on the bank. In the end, my husband and one of my sons caught 5 Sea and Brown Trout and there were a few that got away. It was a beautiful, peaceful day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I don't think we are Fishguide's usual suspects being complete novices with a pair of cheeky teenagers, but we enjoyed ourselves so much that when we heard that Duncan lived very close to the final leg of our journey we booked to meet up with him again.

For our second trip, we met Duncan in Grandtully and went in a 4x4 into the hills to the most beautiful spot. We unloaded next to a stone hut on the bank of a loch surrounded by hills and blue sky. We again went onto the loch in a boat and had quite a few bites and a few that got away. One of my sons caught a very large Pike that managed to escape just as we tried to bring it into the boat. We then decided to walk over to a smaller loch a short walk away and walked along small streams filled with baby trout. At the other loch, there were quite a few nibbles and then my other son caught and brought in a large Pike.

Aside from the fishing, we really enjoyed our time with Duncan and felt like we were meeting an old friend when we met up the second time. Duncan is very well informed and passionate about conservation and the environment and we learned so much from him. We all had a great time fishing, but equally, we all really enjoyed learning so much from Duncan who is great company.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a genuine pleasure to guide you. I feel very fortunate to have such appreciative guests and to be part of this wonderful Scottish landscape. Indeed I can't take the praise much of it belongs to Scotland's nature. Not just the fish and the views but all the other smaller parts, like the insects, heathy soil, flowers and fungi that make it all possible. Duncan
