Candles are made on site here which is extra special, the scents are amazing! Everything is finished to the highest standard and made personal for you...so many scents to choose from. A bit pricey for my liking though... £10 for a small glass candle that would hold the size of a votive... I bought it to treat myself but unfortunately not somewhere I couldnt here shop regularly which is a shame.

If you are in the area the candles here smell incredible. As I get older and become a person who has everything I need. Candles are a go to for a special treat for myself or a gift for others.

This place has a warm friendly welcome and beautiful care has been taken to create a lovely shop.

Lovely Scents!!

The Coast Candle Co. is a lovely, lovely shop. I do not usually go into or buy candles because of my allergies, however, when walking past the open door the scents we so amazing, I had to venture in. I am so glad I did! The scents are soft and lovely - the smell of the Royal Dornoch Candle perfectly captures the sea, the grass, and the gorse - the smells from the beach and golf course!! Fabulous! I purchased a few for gifts and for my home. Claire, the owner is very nice and informative and wonderful candle maker. I was so impressed with being able to bring home the scents of Dornoch!
The Coast Candle Co. is more than a candle shop, there are classes in candle making and many other lovely and beautiful gift items. Make sure you pay it a visit!

Candle Making Workshop

We went to Coast Candle Co in Dornoch for a candle making workshop . We were in a group of five adults and one child . We had the lovely Claire as our host . She explained everything to us step by step . We got to choose our very own scent then added it melted wax to make our very own personalised candle . The scents were amazing and was a really difficult choice to pick favourites , I think I had fourteen on my list but managed to whittle it down to three . What a lovely enjoyable experience and would thoroughly recommended it to anyone , if you haven’t been already , if you are in Dornoch you must visit Coast Candle Co , you will not be disappointed a beautiful shop to visit , you get the wonderful aroma as soon as you open the door .

Beautiful candles

We are regular visitors to Dornoch and we always pop into COAST to top up our candle supplies. The choice of scents is wide and the smell of the shop when you walk in is worth a visit alone. We have never done the workshop but I would be keen to.

Lovely

Being a big candle fan I was keen to visit while staying in the area on holiday.

A lovely friendly welcome from the owner with lots of information provided on products and services as well as some recommendations for eating out places in Dornoch.

The shop and products are gorgeous and exceptionally presented.

Sadly I only left with some tea lights however I will be sure to buy online and fully intend doing the workshop next time I'm in the area.

Perfect place for candle lovers

I have visited Coast Candle Co on many occasions and was excited to go back last week while my family and I were in Dornoch. The smell of the candles when you walk in is intoxicating and the range of candles on offer is extensive. I'm very impressed by how the shop is diversifying and trying new things such as accommodating a tweed range and selling vintage candles (antique cups/holders filled with wax that look so pretty). My daughter loved doing the candle making workshop for the second year in a row and would happily go back every month to do it! A beautiful shop in a beautiful location - just wish there was one in Glasgow!

Worth the Candle !

This is a fun place to buy a reasonably priced memento of Scotland. The presentation and packaging of the goods is lovely - very high end, but you go for the original scents - original being the operating concept. We are all mad for "Whisky Galore" - pure hot toddy with a very big tot of whisky. But a close second is "Slmon Bothy " a mixture of smoke, old pipe, Harris tweed and wet dog - genuinely lovely and cosy.

We are also great fans of James Ritchie's fantastic hand made steel candleholders which are available in the shop.

Dornoch Delight

So we were walking around Dornoch, exploring the quaint shops and generally having a mooch and then we noticed this shop standing proudly on the corner and had to have a look, clean and modern and smells delightful, I can only presume we were talking to Claire, a very pleasant, polite and extremely helpful lady who explained the story behind the creations and got me thoroughly addicted to the Salmon Bothy, which now lights up our lounge at home and sends a lovely aroma through our house, this place really is the jewel in the crown and a must visit if you are in the area....
