Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was an excellent experience. This was the fastest hour I have ever experienced. I enjoyed learning about Scottish history especially how the highland lady’s and gents dressed. If I could only do one thing in Fort Augustus, this would be the one.

Absolutely wonderful and suitable for all ages. We had a great time, received a lot of interesting and important information about the life of the highlanders and even got to try out a kilt and some of the weapons! Anthony definitely knew everything about highland life and had a ton of patience for all our questions, along with making us laugh. This is a "must stop" place for anyone visiting Ft. Augustus!

What a great way to spend an hour in here. Talk Shows are on at different times of the day and its best to book. I can't remember the chaps name who entertained us with his humour and knowledge of how the Highlanders lived hundreds of years back. He was dressed as a Highlander and kept our attention with his funny "speil" and dressing up couple of willing members of the audience as Highlanders. Explaining how the kilts took over from the original Plaids and how it was worn etc. Talking on being in a humble dwelling of a Highlander. Quite funny at times and very interesting. Feel sorry that not everyone who visits Fort Augustus knows what they have missed?
Then there is the little shop which is free to enter to buy unusual souvenirs once show is finished. Show is not expensive.

Ian was fantastic! Super knowledgeable and funny! We learned a lot of cool history about clan life and the history of the kilt. Our Scottish guide even learned a few new things. Was really fun to see how we looked in the kilt too. Definitely worth a stop and one of the highlights of our Scotland trip.

Decided to book onto this last.minute during a rest day in Fort Augustus whilst doing the Great Glen Way. Good value at £7 per adult. The gentleman who talked to us was really funny and I learnt a lot about life as a Clansman, particularly the importance and history of the kilt.

It’s Tuesday and we were in Fort Augustus for a couple of hours so this seemed like a good diversion. So we excitedly approached the attendant:
Me: Can we see the exhibits?
Attendant: Well it’s really just a movie that has already started
Me: Cool. What time does the next one start?
Attendant: Thursday [blank stare - no explanation]

If you want to know more on the history, the people, Clans and way of life in the Highlands then book your tickets now and join your host Anthony for an informal and humorous hour of fun and facts. The experience is based in a cosy little representation of a Highland dwelling. Learn how a traditional kilt was made and worn, see all the weaponry used in the feuds, how the family lived and more. Cannot recommend this experience more highly

4 of us will be there on Sept 12. How do we know if and when there will be a show and what is the cost?

Hello there. I will be staying at Morag's Lodge this June and would like to take in a show if it turns out we have enough time. Do you charge for the show and if so, how much? Thanks.

I don’t charge for the show but the Clansman centre does. Email them directly. Worth it though!

My family has Scottish history. I am driving through in June on a weekday. We have only one day and would hate to miss the show. We are interested in learning about the clansman way of life. DO we need to purchase tickets ahead of time? Also, is the show offered at certain times? We will be visiting in the 4 pm range, thanks

Hi there. Thank you for your enquiry. What date in June are you going to be in the area? How many in your family? If there is no other show on the date you are coming, we could, subject to the presenter being available, put on a show for you.

Are the shows no longer on? I visited about 20 years ago now and have been telling my husband and daughter all about it as we are in the area next week and was hoping it was still open as the show was really interesting from what I remember.
Is it just a shop now? Is there any way we can book to the see show?

I am so sorry not to have responded to you sooner. I was abroad and didn't pick up this until today. Did you pop into The Clansman Centre when you were there? Did you manage to get a show?

Hi there. Clan is basically the word for family. Therefore Clansman = family man. The clan was no just the immediate family but that of people sharing the same surname. Hope this helps.
