Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Understandably, like all whisky distilleries they are closed for tours at present to protect the workforce, but the shop is open (where you can buy 'The Original' for £7 more than you would pay in Tesco or Amazon Prime ;-) You can also pre-book tasting sessions I believe.
The information boards outside are a nice touch and interesting. Also you do get a sneaky peek in through the doors of the distillery as you walk alongside the building. You will see the stalled construction of a glass tower which will house an 'innovation centre'. All staff friendly. We were staying close by, but once everything reopens it will definitely be worth a stop.

Great Distillery to experience but be careful of the fact that if you are a foreign tourist exiting from London. At the World Duty Free, you will find cheaper prices than the Distillery. I regret buying SIGNET by almost £13 expensive and also you save the hassle of carrying all the way from North to South with extra weight in your luggage.

We did the innovation tour and while it was quite interesting, it felt like a rip-off. For what we saw and the tasting, which was labeled to come with cheese and chocolate, it was way too expensive, and there was only each one microscopic piece of cheese and chocolate, we thought the 50£ would include a fine food pairing, not just a tiny bite along with the 4 drams. The tour guide was not as experienced as we had hoped, she seemed unsure to some questions that we did not consider that difficult to answer when you are well-informed about whisky, but she was very nice. Next time we are in the area, we will go to some other distilleries, where we might get more for our money and not put the money directly to LVMH.

We paid for a Classic tour of the Glenmorangie on 24 Jun. It was the worst distillery or brewery tour we have been on. We love whisky and have visited a number of distilleries. The best tours have a story teller who knows the details of distilling whisky, the history of the brand, interesting anecdotes, knowledge of the whisky and holds the paying punters’ attention with maturity, enthusiasm and an effort to connect with the group. Our tour had none of this. Our guide may have been put in at the last minute. Fundamentally, he knew nothing more than some of the process and some history. Other distilleries have engaged us with in-depth knowledge of the entirety of the process, the revenue and customs issues, the chemistry involved in making each individual malt so different, the bottling, the marketing, the specifics of nose and taste.
We happened to be staying in the same guest house in Tain as some US tourists who were on the same tour. Universally we agreed it was sub-standard and extremely disappointing.
GLENMORANGIE – up your game. Thousands of us love your malts but if this is the standard of your tours, it leaves a sour taste in the mouth instead the afterburn of amber nectar.

Great little day out, we did the classic tasting- good value for money and Finn who was running the tasting was lovely, friendly and informative. The grounds are very pretty too. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area!

Great visit to the distillery shop. Spoilt for choice and seems a very popular stop off.
Did not book a tour, however these did seem very popular.
Liking the connection/support for giraffes and the current paint work on the buildings is fantastic.

We had a nice tour at the Glenmorangie. That being said, I think there are better tours at places like Talisker. There are quite a bit of restrictions on photos, which is odd -pretty sure there aren't any secrets in making this scotch - and the tour is a bit on the expensive side for just two single oz samples. The storage areas/warehouse was actually the most interesting part of the tour, where the spend quite a bit of time talking about the barrel useage and how that type affects the scotch. In all, it felt like a little bit of a money grab being here, and I'm going to chalk that up to their LVMH ownership.

We visited on a stormy February afternoon. We knew there was a tour a 2pm so arrived at 1.30 and booked our spaces.
Small but beautiful shop, huge range of whisky on offer, friendly + helpful staff.
Our tour guide was Harry. He was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Glenmorangie and whisky in general. Very enjoyable tour pitched at the perfect level for everyone on the tour to understand and enjoy plus he encouraged us to ask as many questions as we liked.
The tasting room was fun. I had no idea about the technique of really tasting whisky, but Harry explained how to get the best out of our nip.
Everyone seemed to enjoy their afternoon and the fact that there were 25 people on a tour on a cold, wet winters afternoon speaks volumes about the quality and good reputation of Glenmorangie. Highly recommended.

Alana was very informative. Great whisky lovely place for a visit if you like single malt whisky. Good selection of bottles & accessories. Not the cheapest place to buy Glenmorangie though. On arriving we saw a sign on the side of the building g that tells you to go to the shop for tours. We did this & then was told to go to reception that's where the tours start from. Maybe need to change the signage to let people know where the tours start from!! Apart from this really enjoyed the experience. We'll worth a visit.

We came here to buy gifts for friends. The staff are very nice and friendly and it actually isn’t a rip off I tried a shot of the signet which was £10 in the shop. In Inverness in a whiskey bar they were charging £25 a shot.
Unfortunately there are currently no tours due to covid

Written 5 February 2020
I booked as I went during the busy season and I wanted a specific time, if you are happy to take a chance then go for it but prepare for a wait if going during July/August.

Has the Quinta Ruban been discontinued?
Or is 'Duthac' produced in addition to Quinta Ruban or Lasanta.
Written 11 April 2018
They described the Quintana Ruban as part of their normal line today. They do have special bottling. I think Duthac is one of those.

Do you get to taste the whiskey on the original tour (the £7.00 tour)?
Written 17 March 2018
The young lad who gave us the tour was very helpful. If you are interested in a specific whiskey he will give you a taste within reason
