I was here a few years back. It was worth visiting to meet Jan & Pete & the awesome job they do. Their place is right in front of the water. It is beautiful. I will preface this and say that I have volunteered here twice now and it's one of my favorite places in the world. You're in the middle of nowhere on the edge of the world. This place is really not obvious but as Hillswick is a small village, just ask and they will point you in the right direction. Noted for its care of abandoned sea mammals, the Santuary has featured on several wildlife programmes. No doubt they do greatmwork and kids can get up close to seal pups and maybe an otter if they... We came here "by accident", but definetely enjoyed out stay and are still impressed by the enthusiasm and helpfulness we encountered.
