Visited here on our drive around Unst. We have an interest in boats, esp old boats so this was right up our street. There are plenty of old (mid 1800s) boats on display but what I didn’t expect was how the story of Shetland was...More

Interesting local museum, a lot of useful information of the history of fishing industry, many maps and items of the local culture, insluding boats.

Spent a good few hours here looking at all the exhibits. We were very welcomely greeted by a volunteer who was very knowledgeable. Combine your trip to the Unst Boat Haven with Victorias Vintage Tea Rooms next door for a lovely afternoon out.

A combined ticket for here and the Heritage centre is a snip at just £5.00 per head. Mel was helpful and friendly. The boats are beautifully displayed and Shetland's maritime life and history is explored in great detail.

The centre doesn't seem to have a page of its own but don't miss this gem. It's packed with interesting bits and pieces including beautiful lace and an interesting history of the Sheltie. But the best for us was the chance to brew our own...More

I am not an expert on boats but these were interesting boats, a few from far away but the vast majority local and ancient. Modest admission price collected by a man who clearly knew a lot about Unst and its history, not just boats.
