We had a wonderful family holiday in one of the apartments in the Stables. The estate is a great oasis of peaceful walks, with a wide range of mature trees particularly noteworthy. Blairquhan staff were helpful and welcoming. The apartment was simply furnished but perfectly adequate for us. The area was new to us and we loved it, the beaches on the Ayrshire coast, the wilderness in the Galloway National Park, and the rolling hills all round Blairquhan. And we had a memorable day on the Isle of Arran.

We got married at Blairquhan on the 23rd November 2019. After researching online we had visited a few venues around Ayrshire. In the flesh, Blairquhan was the stand out venue by miles; understated grandeur and an amazing warmth and ambience that made us feel at home the moment we arrived. In addition to the castle accommodations, the estate also had a number of cottages where we could accommodate guests. This was important to us as many of our guests would be travelling. After our visit we both knew we wanted to married there. We made our wedding a weekend affair and hired the venue from Friday through to Sunday. The staff were absolutely amazing. Lovely Libby was our planner and she really got stuck in to help in the preparations. She helped us to find local suppliers and was very knowledgeable about the history of Blairquhan. We couldn't have done it without her. Masterful Martin was our master of ceremony and headed up the evening team. He was fab. The team really couldn't have done more for us to ensure that our plans went without a hitch. They really looked after us and our guests and everyone commented on how lovely they were. It is a special skill to make somewhere so grand feel like home. We had the most magical wedding ceremony followed by a fabulous reception with wonderful canapés prepared by the catering team. The wedding breakfast was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were highly complimentary about the food and service throughout the day. The venue and grounds offer many wonderful backdrops for photographs and we have some great ones as momentos of our special day. Our wedding was just perfect and we want to come back and live at Blairquhan!! Couldn't recommend it enough.

We got married at Blairquhan Castle on May 27th, 2018. Blairquhan is especially sentimental for us as I, Gordon the groom, grew up in nearby Crosshill, 5 minutes away. From the moment my wife elect Megan and I saw the property, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else! We were married on the Sunday and reserved the castle and the cottages for our guests from Friday to Monday. For us, the layout of the castle and the cottages was perfect as we had many guests travelling from America and throughout the U.K. so everyone could stay on the grounds the entire weekend, mingle with the other guests and enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounding the castle. If you and your guests are traveling from afar, this is the perfect place as everyone can stay in walking distance of the venue and spend time together throughout the entire weekend. The castle and grounds are immaculately taken care of by the staff. As guests, our rooms were beautiful, well-kept, and comfortable. The cottages were spacious and perfect for families attending the wedding. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous – guests will enjoy the many walking trails and there are plenty of beautiful locations for wedding photos as well. As we currently live in New York, nothing would have been possible without Tracey. From the moment we met, we were wowed with her outstanding organisation and her complete competency had us at ease. At every step of the planning, through organising menu tasting for my mum and dad, to coordinating delivery times with vendors, Tracey had an amazing handle on everything. Not only is Tracey amazing at her job, but she is an incredibly kind, fun person to work with – we are looking forward to keeping in touch with her in the years to come. Every detail was very well thought out, including guest arrival times, coordination with our vendors, and the timing of the entire wedding day. Tracey was so helpful and patient in answering every email and every question we had along the way. Admittedly, we were not the most organized wedding planners but she helped us focus and think through aspects of the wedding / weekend that we hadn’t thought of. When the weekend arrived, she was on hand to make sure all of our guests were checked in and comfortable in their rooms, and helped us deliver some welcome bags to each room. During the entire weekend, the Blairquhan staff went out of their way to make all of our guests comfortable and feel welcome. Martin and Gayle made significant efforts to chat with our family and friends and made them feel at home. On the day itself, with the unwavering support of Gayle, Martin and the rest of the staff, everything went exactly to plan and we honestly had the best day of our lives thanks to them. My wife and I had the most fantastic day, never concerned with timing or logistics, all due to the incredible Blairquhan team. Family and friends have told us how brilliant the whole team was, and no one was left wanting for anything! Thank you so very much Tracey, Gayle, Martin and the rest of the Blairquhan team for a weekend we will never forget! We can’t wait to stop by and say hello next time we are back in Scotland! Adding some snaps (thanks Mirrorbox Photography) from the weekend too!

We got married here on December 9th 2017 and it truly was the most perfect day. The fact that we got snow made it even more perfect, however the staff and the location are the real 5 stars of this place. Venue We enquired about the venue over a year before. We met Anne at the venue and were greeted with homemade shortbread. The smell just filled the castle. The décor and the welcome made us realise straight away that we had found a true gem for our perfect day. From the moment we viewed we were completely wowed. We were shown around the castle and the cottages. There is 15 bedrooms in the castle and an additional 8 cottages (mix of 2, 3 and 4 beds). All the rooms are immaculate and very well decorated. Only criticism is a few of the cottages need updating but this is in the future plans. We booked it straight away after finding no other location to rival its magic. The scenery is breath taking. It secluded. Its private. Its exclusive. Its everything you want in a wedding venue. The décor in the castle is traditional yet very contemporary. All our guests on our big day commented on the beauty of the castle. We were very proud to be getting married in such a stunning place. Tracey & Staff Tracey is an absolute star. She is there through every step and helped us so much. We live in London so unfortunately we couldnt get to the venue as often as we wanted to, however Tracey was always in contact helping us through the process and letting us know what we needed to do and when. Tracey got very excited about our wedding and it felt like she had a personal touch - she could not have been more committed. It was like going through the process with a family member. As a same sex couple we were nervous that we wouldnt get the reception that we wanted, but this added to Tracey's excitement and she was determined to make it perfect for us. Tracey managed all costs, payment, menu tasting, guest check-in with ease and professionalism. The run up and the day itself was orchestrated to perfection by Tracey. We were in complete safe hands. In Tracey's words - the stress was all hers. It was our day. Even down to getting Frank on his knees to ensure the perfect kilt length before walking down the aisle. Nothing goes un-noticed. There is so much to say about Tracey, we could go on all day. Our day was perfect and a lot of this is due to Tracey. All of our guests commented on how fantastic she was. Thank you Tracey xxx Special shout out to Gayle and Martin for keeping all of our guests fed and watered and keeping them in line at the same time. Gayle was particular lovely. She got friendly with our mums and spent time with them on the morning after and even made one of our dads his own special eggs. Like Tracey, Gayle did not ignore any request and nothing went un-noticed. She is clearly proud of Blairquhan and an asset to the establishment. The remainder of the staff are a credit to the castle and all contributed to a fantastic fairy tale wedding. Our memories of our perfect day will live on as well as the memories of the staff and their commitment to our wedding. Without them it wouldn't have been the truly magical day it was. Blairquhan will forever be a place in our hearts.
