Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We happened upon this little place on a visit to Bridge of Allan.
At first it wasn't evident that it was open, but we ventured in to find it was - although at around 3pm we were the only ones there! However a few people did come in a bit later on.
It's quite an atmospheric place with shelves full of literally hundreds of beer bottles. I can imagine in winter when the place is full and they have live music on it will be an absolute hoot.
Not being real ale drinkers (which is unfortunate as all ales are brewed in house) we opted for the Scottish lager (4%) which went down very well, a nice refreshing drink - so much so I had three of them, just to make sure!
Dougie was a great host, very pleasant and easy to talk to. Despite being busy brewing he still made time to come and have a chat.
I would definitely recommend it and if we're in Bridge of Allan again we'll most certainly be popping in.

Have visited several times over the decades, never in winter and we’ve never stayed over in our motorhome, until now! Access is narrow so Brit Stop Members beware 6m is the limit. Always phone / email ahead. Present your current book and make sure your sticker is in the cab window. On arrival Douglas asked us to fill in two forms one for the van window and one for him, no problem.
We popped in, on the afternoon and had a few. Douglas made our dog feel very welcome with treats free of charge and some ready made on sale utilising the hops and oats on-site.
Douglas does home made Pizza on Fri & Sat - we were there Thursday so didn’t expect any food but he’d had some tours booked in but had had 2 cancel so the offer of steak pie (soaking for 24 hours in this own stout) was a welcome one. He reserved us a table for later, the dog treats were already there. His steak pie was the best we’ve ever eaten anywhere.
Douglas is a master host, so friendly and welcoming and once again we can’t wait to return!

Douglas was a great host - explained not only the brewing process but the history to the brewery - loved the range of beers available to taste. Will definitely be back - worth a visit if you are visiting Stirling. Quality ale. Quality location.

Went this afternoon for the jazz band. Had booked a table for two well in advance. Arrived and was ignored by the four or five staff behind the bar and was finally served by a very rude older man (the owner?) who seemed to want to argue with me about both my name and the number of people the booking was for. Was then shown to a ‘table’ which wasn’t in fact a table at all, just two seats crammed at the back of the room between two other large groups. As we would literally have been sitting on other folks knees she gave up and went to the Baw Bee instead which was absolutely lovely and also had a band playing.

This is a lovely old brewery tap.
Brewing here since 1996.
It has 4 or 5 house cask beers, all brewed on site, and several craft/keg beers also.
They do brewery tours and sell pizzas a few days a week.
BUT at £6.50 a pint for even the house 3.8% cask bitter, it's very, very expensive.
Normally i would have returned.
But, sorry, not at that price.

Again, after travelling many miles to visit this quaint place, I was told by the owner that it was closed, even though advertised as being open.
This is the third time of being disappointed. Sorry, such a special place but no longer worth the risk.
The beer is fab but no good if you cannot drink it. The owner needs to get his act together.

Called in in the afternoon (en route to distant destination) to collect some draught beer for home consumption (2x4 pinters). Looked an interesting location but had not time to sample any. Big mistake because when I got home and tried the beers, one was undrinkable (end of cask) and the other was only marginally better. Too far to go back and exchange. Did use the contact form on their website to advise but did not even get an acknowledgement. Shame on you Allenwater!!

Friendly welcome and lovely surroundings. They brew their own beer. They made us some delicious pizzas specially even though they weren’t on that night. Well worth a trip out from Glasgow but check opening times as they’re not open every day.

Great local microbrewery with knowledgable staff and lovely chilled atmosphere in the bar. Beers are really good, especially the two IPA with the Procrastination being tropical and citrus with the usual benefits of double hopped haziness and well carried ABV. Easy to get to from Stirling and therefore from Glasgow and Edinburgh, well worth a visit if you love your beer, pubs and family or social settings.

A last minute motorhome stopover (in their car park - as listed in Brit Stops). Slight disappointment when we found on arrival the Brewhouse is closed on a Monday. However - any disappointment was temporary as the Head Brewer was on site "doing some brew testing" and not only confirmed we could still use the car park but (any more important) opened the bar and served a couple.
First class service and reflected of what I had felt was a real good feel to the place. Naturally hope to return to enjoy the Brewhouse atnosphere in all its splendour
