Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went here on a hike with friends – took all in all about 1-2 hours. Gorgeous area and views, a suitable trip for beginner hikers although we ended up making a trek through the undergrowth to get to the waterfalls, which was quite demanding at some points. Straightforward directions to the falls would be cool, but on the other hand this was a nature experience we asked for and next time different shoes will definitely be brought. Not crowded at all, can recommend – but people please take your trash with you. Seeing bottles floating in the water was disheartening.

This place is lovely for a quick stop and even have a quick dip. It’s hard to find and it’s a walkway between a farm but worth the walk to it. My son ages 6 and I, novice climbers went down half way from the top on a nice sunny day and it was great scrambling. Loved every bit of it. My wife and daughter came down to the first fall under the waterfall and just sat there for an hour while we scrambled down and back up. Great views.

Just a short drive up from Fintry up the narrow B818 road (road signed for Denny) this spectacular natural waterfall is free to visit. There is no formal road sign for it - just a small green public footpath sign (see my uploaded pic) that identifies the Loup - so you have to be extra vigilant looking for it when driving. It does not have a designated parking area, only two simple passing places on opposite sides of the road. These can only take two cars at most. It is only a couple of minutes walk from the passing places through the wall/gate to reach it - it is visually hidden from the road by a small slightly inclined hill - not steep & easy to walk up. Recommend wear decent boots/footwear as it is not a footpath just a well trodden wee track which can get very muddy and squishy -especially if it's been wet/is raining. After heavy rain is the best time to see it at its spectacular best like I did on the 1st January 2018 - after three days of rain and the addition of snowmelt from the hills behind!! Well worth a stop at if travelling along the B818 through the Carron Valley which boasts many walking routes, access to the climb up to Meikle Bin summit, Carron Water reservoir with its dam and weir which you can also stop at. You can join the B818 from the Denny end and also two other wee short scenic routes (with great panoramic views) either over the Tak Me Doon Brae road (from Kilsyth) and the Crow Road (from Lennoxtown) - the Crow Road brings you over and down to Fintry so it comes out at the nearer end of the B818 to get to the Loup. Highly recommend a stop off at the Loup if you are travelling in/around this area. Costs you nothing but a few minutes of your day to view nature at its spectacular best even if you have to brave the rain to see it like I did - but that is when you'll see it at its best!! Enjoy!!

This waterfall takes a bit of finding but it is worth it. If you put the coordinates Latitude: 56° 02' 59.64" N Longitude: -4° 08' 59.32" W into a satnav it ill take you to the area. there are 2 small laybys (one on each side) near a gate. Go through the gate and follow the path which can be a bit overgrown due to not being used too much. The path winds a bit and is up/down so be prepared. Proper footwear is needed if it is wet and for the best views of the falls it is best visited when here has been a lot of rain. This is not for the faint hearted but well worth the effort

These falls are spectacular and well worth the short walk, especially after heavy rain. If you are in the area visiting for example the Falkirk Wheel you should really check this out. It is just off the B818 about 1.5 miles east of Fintry. Look for the public path Loup of Fintry sign and park in the passing place layby across from it. Walk through the gate. Make sure you have some sort boots on as the path is muddy and quite overgrown. I think even a relatively unfit person should manage the quarter mile path to the falls. The Loup of Fintry is a series of about 4-5 levels of waterfall and are absolutely spectacular. A bit of a hidden gem. Go and see them, you will not be disappointed

Another Scottish gem, is like the pot off gold at the end of a rainbow.

You walk through the long grass and as you turn the corner you see the beauty of an amazing waterfall. Sit down and breath the beautiful fresh air and relax.

So close to the road but feels remote. Stunning waterfalls and viewpoint: we will be back. The more water the better sorbet a rainy day would be good

This is a spectacular waterfall just a few miles past Fintry. There are not a lot of parking spaces near it but look out for the sign in the field as its not the biggest. It would be best visited if there has been a few days of rainfall before you go but otherwise it is still spectacular to see and the views around it and down the falls are terrific well worth a visit

Definitely worth a visit if you are near Fintry. We followed the directions on another review and found the lay-by to park in, the waterfall is a short walk away- the track is not very well used and overgrown so wear boots!!
It's only a short walk and definitely worth it, what a beautiful and tranquil place.

A very unexpected local highlight. The waterfall is easy to miss as the little green sign is small and worn but it is so worth the visit! I used one of the other reviews to help find the waterfall and I would recommend others to do the same.
