Unfortunately we saw very little wildlife on our 2 hour trip. The conditions weren’t great, with the water being very choppy in parts. This meant that you really had to cling on and at times it really jarred our backs. Having mentioned that we were keen to see dolphins, it was a shame that we embarked on a trip where it would not be possible to go out on the sea far enough, due to the weather conditions, for this to be a possibility. On the plus side Angus was knowledgeable regarding the local history. He made us feel safe with his briefing regarding the self inflating life jackets and the distress beacon he wore and the one fitted onboard. Also enjoyed the opportunity to fish for the first time and the excitement of catching a mackerel. On balance, we would have opted to do this on another day as we don’t feel this represented value for money.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. During our pre trip phone conversation the previous day and before we left the pontoons with the boat I explained the weather conditions, sea state and the fact that it was very late in the season for a variety of wildlife. You were happy enough to proceed with the trip after being made aware of the above as your safety and comfort is of paramount importance to me. During the trip I asked you a number of times if both of you were okay to which you replied yes on all occasions, at no point was I made aware of any discomfort. I’m pleased you enjoyed catching your first fish and hope to see you back on Haste to Sea in the future when the wildlife is in abundance.

We stumbled across "Haste to Sea" when staying on the Isle of Lewis recently & quite frankly Angus's local knowledge, professional set up & flexibility made our trip so special, seeing wildlife & aspects of the Isle we just never even knew existed. So good in fact that we went back for a second trip before leaving for home! I cant recommend Angus highly enough. He listened to what we wanted to get from the trips and tailored it accordingly. You want to see the landscape, that's what you get. You want to learn about the history, the local fish farming techniques, see wildlife.... that's what you get! You want a 2 hour trip, a 3 hour trip, a BBQ en-route... that's what you get! You can see from our pictures his local knowledge of the wildlife & his sharp eye spotting it helped me get the most amazing pictures. The boat & the organisation is COVID safe, equipped with full safety equipment including the explanation of an emergency beacon even in the unlikely event of your skipper being taken poorly! Highly recommended. You wont be disappointed!

Four of us (two adults and two children aged 10) had a brilliant time with Angus. We were with him for 2 hours and did a bit of everything, seeing seals, historical bits, fishing, checking creels (lobster/crab cages), and seeing two sea eagles (see photos). Definitely recommend it on a visit to Lewis.
