Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice trip and loved walking around to see all the statues and carvings. It was very easy to walk around and also very accessible. Would recommend this for anyone who wants a nice amble.

Dotted around Stornoway are lots of little sculptures, standing stones, herring girls, seals, and a blackhouse among others.

I enjoted seeing the various sculptures of the people and animals of the area, but particularly moced by the Iolaire monument near to the town hall where it felt right just to sit and think for a while.

There are numerous sculptures and statues around stornoway, all of which tell the stories of the locals and the history of the islands. We only seen about 14 of them (not sure how many there is in total) but it makes for an interesting walk around stornoway. You can pick up a booklet from the tourist info centre which gives a little more detail about them.
My favourite one is of the large highland coo outside the coop and across from it a horse and cart, Beautiful carved out of wood.
Definitely a must do when it stornoway!
