Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Met Pete and another couple as arranged, within twenty minutes we were watching an otter and throughout the day, Pete was showing us sea eagles, buzzards, deer etc. The scenery was stunning, the food and drinks Pete provided was first class, he even went to the trouble of providing a drink for me, as I don’t drink tea or coffee.
If the chance arises to return to Mull, a day with Pete will be a must.

Peter gave a really personal tour with a maximum of 4 people. He has great local knowledge and enthusiasm and took us to many key spots. We saw white tailed sea eagles, lots of herons (including one struggling to eat a small octopus) and a golden eagle. Unfortunately no otters today - nature being what is is. Peter also provided hot drinks and a packed lunch! Total service.

Met Peter as agreed. Their were four of us in the car and we all had a great time. At the second stop he bagged us a white tailed eagle! Travelling to the other side of Mull he spotted some fallow deer and while we were watching these a golden eagle. At the lunch stop, with his rightly praised sandwiches (and his chutney), a couple of hen harriers sky dancing and then a buzzard who took exception! Then onto a white tailed eagle chick in the nest and one of the adults coming back to feed it! We stopped at a loch where others had stopped. A mother otter with two cubs! On the journey back to our cars, a red deer stag and then to a garden with more red deer. Peter is a walking encyclopedia on wildlife and even if you have only a fleeting interest in wildlife then boo a tour with Peter, his knowledge and enthusiasm will pique your interest to appreciate the natural world. This trip is one of the best I've ever had. And he is a Brummie!

What a shame that after almost 12 months of holding our full payment for this tour Peter decided to cancel it within a week of it being actually due to take place. Someone had booked for him to go to RHS Chelsea and he dropped us. It took 48 hours to get our money back. We were looking forward to Peter taking us out "on a very personal tour to see the island’s spectacular scenery and fascinating wildlife" as it says on his website. Nothing that Peter can say in his defence can balance our disappointment at this being cancelled at such short notice just because he wanted to take time away instead. Ah well, one memory of Mull to remember. Peter suggested an alternative group tour but we originally chose his because there were only three of us and we liked the idea of being on our own.

Super day with Peter that really lived up to our expectations. Within minutes of our tour we saw a sea eagle and the day just kept giving with sightings of more sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers and a cuckoo in flight. His passion and knowledge of wildlife shone through and we would highly recommend his tour.

I spent 2 days touring with Peter and they were magical! The stunning beauty of Mull combined with Peter’s extensive knowledge of where to look for the animals and birds and his sharp eyes made these days unforgettable. Peter is a kind and efficient host, providing delicious food and necessary facilities at regular intervals! We saw golden and white tailed eagles, fallow and red deer, otters and many birds and seals. We travelled in a small group in Peter’s car and as a solo traveller I very much enjoyed the like-minded company.
Altogether I highly recommend this tour with Peter as a stress free way to explore beautiful Mull and it’s wildlife!

Had a great day out with Pete, his knowledge was excellent, he knew where to go for all of the wildlife.
If it is your first visit to Mull as it was ours, then a day with Peter is well worth the fee, not only do you stand a very good chance of seeing the wildlife and Island you will also get a good tour, with nice little stories about the Island as you travel around. Add to this his sense of humor, his pre prepared lunch (yes the chutney is as good as other reviews have said) and the pleasure of being part of a small group with the guides attention all of the time then you will be sure of a good day.
We bumped into Peter later in our stay and he was still keen to help us find things on the island to help make our stay on the Island enjoyable.

Vast knowledge of wildlife with an experienced and amiable guide.
Has a powerful telescope and insider knowledge of where to point it. We were lucky enough to see several Sea Eagles including a chick sitting in its nest. Also caught a glimpse of 2 Golden Eagles. Also saw Grey and Atlantic seals, Red and Fallow deer, Herons, a wide range of birds and flowers. Pete was very patient and considerate companion. Break down the approx 6hr day and the hourly cost was a very reasonable £50, Inc lunch, snacks and hot drinks.

Brilliant day spent in the congenial company of a very knowledgable guide. We saw 6 sea eagles, 3 otters and plenty more besides. In spite of unpromising weather Peter gave us a fantastic tour with copious appropriately pitched information and guidance. We were provided with plenty of hot drinks, a lovely picnic lunch and suitable opportunities for comfort breaks throughout the day. Peter is friendly, funny and full of good old Brummy wisdom. We loved this trip and would recommend it without reservation. Thank you so much Peter!

Steve and Sue were a delightful couple, and, like me ,from the Midlands. We had a superb day, and had some wonderful sightings. The weather was a typical unsettled Mull day, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment. Thank you both for these lovely comments, and I would love to see you both again at some time in the future.

What a day! We met up with Peter at 10.30am returning to Craignure at 4pm. 5 1/2 hours of wildlife spotting and good conversation.

The highlights were Otter, Sea Eagle, Golden Eagle and Hen Harrier. Fab views of all! Slavonian Grebe, Great Northern Diver, Common and Grey Seals and Red Deer also Spotted.

Peter unsurprisingly had fantastic local knowledge having lived on Mull for 22 years and had many interesting stories from his time on the island.

I have little doubt that without this local knowledge we wouldn’t have spotted Otter or Hen Harrier on our trip and maybe not either Eagle species.

A fantastic day in great company and even the cold and sometimes extremely wet late October weather didn’t effect us.

Peter also lent us a tyre pump for the rest of our trip which was fantastically helpful.

A brilliant day!
