What an amazing few days spent with our guide Laura on the Isle of Mull.
Laura is very knowledgeable and almost is at one with the island.
The itinerary is meticulously researched and planned and there never is a dull moment.
Laura ensured we had a seamless program of visits to all areas of interest on the island and surrounding islands to give as many opportunities as possible to see a wide selection of wildlife. We saw so much including otter, white tailed and golden eagle and hen harriers.
Steve and his wife Angela who provide the full day boat trip and catering respectively, have also done a fantastic job and got it perfect.
The hotel room was very comfortable and food served was of excellent quality. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
All in all it has been an unforgettable few days creating memories for a lifetime.
To say this is their first season and this week was their debut we can only say it felt like the team had been providing breaks for years.
We totally recommend to anyone interested in wildlife to book, you won’t regret it.
Well done to all.
Big thank you to Mull Wildlife Breaks for fabulous holiday!!

What a week.

Our guide Laura was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and patient guiding us all over the island to see Otters, Deer, Hen Harriers, Golden Eagles and White Tailed Sea Eagles.

She gave us a running commentary whilst driving the tour bus, spotting animals out of the corner of her eye that we would never have seen without her. She gave us good information about habitats and the animals whilst also giving us time to enjoy the experience and take photographs.
Her knowledge extended to Binocular optics, tidal systems, weather forecasts and in the event that she didn't have an immediate answer to a question about the island or a particular creature, she'd do some research in the evening and tell us all about it the following day.

The day trip on the Companys' motor launch was fantastic providing close-up views of the Island of Staffa, home to the famous Fingals' Cave, and several of the smaller islands in the Sound of Mull with the hoards of nesting seabirds.
Champagne lunch on board was very special as were the close-up views of nesting White Tail Sea Eagles.

Big thank you to everyone at Mull Wildlife Breaks and the Staff at Glenforsa Hotel, they all went above and beyond to make this holiday a most wonderful experience.

We would highly recommend Mull Wildlife Breaks with Laura, Steve and Angela to anyone interested in exploring this fascinating Island.

My first trip to Mull and it did not disappoint.
From my arrival on Sunday until my departure on the Friday evening Steve, Angela and especially Laura were very welcoming and very professional given that this is a
fledgling (no pun intended..lol) business.
Angela provides the excellent individual picnic lunches for each day with all Dietary requirements taken care of.
Steve or Captain Steve that should be drives the boat and very well too I may add.
Laura, well what Laura does is exceptional, she is a font of knowledge not only about the wildlife and plants but the Island itself and its outlying Islands and very passionate about what she imparts but is also accepting of new information regarding some of the Islands most elusive and dangerous creatures ( an in joke on the trip). She also remembers every ones names from the minute she meets you and she is good fun.
Laura drives the roads of Mull with confidence and consideration to the locals and knows exactly where to go for the best opportunities of seeing wildlife or landscape so you will be in a safe pair of hands.
The van is easy to get in and out of and is fully air conditioned if the Mull weather requires it.
As for the wildlife on the trip, well I got to see just about all of it, White Tailed Eagles, Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers, Peregrines, Short eared Owl, Otters, Red & Fallow Deer the list goes on, trust me you will see them at some point on the trip.
The morning trip to Iona is also a very pleasant break and if you are very lucky you may just see a Corncrake or two, you will definitely hear them. The beaches on Iona are stunning and just a pleasure to sit and watch the sea and just escape from life.
The Glenforsa Hotel is in a perfect location providing some stunning views and if you are lucky a stunning sunset, the food they provide each day is without fault as is the service the only small gripe is that the rooms (or at least the one I had) and the grounds could do with an update and some maintenance but the room was comfortable and the bedding etc clean..as I say just a small gripe.
Overall if you are considering a trip to Mull and don't want the hassle of driving, finding places to stay or making food everyday then I would highly recommend you book a trip with these guys as they have got it right and will take care of everything you need so don't even consider any other.
A massive THANKYOU to Steve, Angela and Laura ( watch out for the panther you know what it can do..lol). I hope you continue for many years too come providing people like myself with some wonderful images and memories.

THANKYOU..

We booked this trip after watching Mull’s abundant wildlife on TV. We were not disappointed. Steve kept us informed regularly on the lead up to the trip, and on arriving via Cal-Mac, our lovely guide Laura was waiting to greet our group of 6.
The whole experience was not just a fabulous opportunity to view Mull from an insider’s perspective, but also a wonderful way to celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary.
Too many highlights to list them all, but the mum & otter cubs were pretty special. As was the adder being carried home for dinner by the majestic Golden Eagle. Of course, the tadpoles were a bonus find at Calgary!! Plus the sneaky stalking of Iolo Williams!
There may be sceptics who think they could do this without a guide. Let me assure you, you can’t. Laura’s spotting skills make the average raptor appear short sighted! A dot on the horizon is quickly identified, the scope set up and cameras poised to capture another magical memory!
I cannot praise this team highly enough, and I’m notoriously cynical. There is nothing to fault and for many, this trip will be life changing.
Thank you again, Laura, Steve and Angela for a truly unforgettable trip.

This was a wonderful five days experience delivered by a caring, knowledgeable and friendly team. Laura was a terrific guide, her careful preparation of each trip was second to none, providing our group of eight with excellent views of the local wildlife. Our trips in the comfortable minibus were planned so that we had every opportunity to view all the wildlife that Mull has to offer. we really enjoyed Angela's tasty picnics which were presented in individual wicker hampers. In fact the food on our trips and at the hotel was consistently good. the hotel was comfortable while the staff were always attentive.
My favourite outing was the one in Steve's lovely boat, where we saw masses of sea birds up close and Fingal's cave on Staffa and during this trip we had a close encounter with a white tailed eagle.

Dear Mike, Thank you for this great feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your break with us, we loved showing you our favourite wildlife spots. It is great to hear that viewing the white-tailed sea eagle was a highlight for you, as it is such an iconic species on Mull and a real symbol of a successful reintroduction story. Many thanks, Laura Mull Wildlife Breaks

This trip is a brilliant way to experience all the wildlife Mull has to offer. It’s a safari like holiday, which we’ve never come across in the UK before. It’s well organised and maximises the opportunity to see all the animals, and explore Mull. Laura is a very dedicated and knowledgeable guide, which enabled us to see everything we had hoped to see (there’s too many to list but the otters, sea eagles and golden eagles were particularly special).

The accommodation is ideally located for all the planned activities. The rooms are basic, but the restaurant and bar are excellent.

The food in the hotel and the packed lunches provided were brilliant. (I have specific dietary requirements which were accommodated for without issue). Every meal was varied and there was absolutely no chance of anyone going hungry!

The itinerary was flexible enough to be adapted around the changeable weather, and allowed the activities to be done on the most suitable days. The boat trip was done quite early in our break, but it was definitely a highlight especially as we were lucky enough to get close to some dolphins 😀

We stayed on Mull for a couple of days after the trip and realised that if we hadn’t have done this trip with Mull Wildlife Breaks first, then we’d probably have struggled to spot any wildlife on our own. If you want to see all the wildlife that Mull has to offer, then I strongly recommend doing this tour because local knowledge and experience is essential. (Otters are really difficult to spot!)

This was a truly memorable wildlife experience, which I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Dear Jo and Chris, We are always very happy to be likened with a safari break, as much of my experience is gained from years spent guiding in Africa. I really enjoyed guiding your group and especially appreciated all the questions, interest and genuine appreciation for Mull's beautiful scenery. I trust you had a super time in Fionnphort with your extra days. I really appreciate you taking the time to write about your stay with us, Warm regards from bright and breezy Mull, Laura

Our break had been postponed from earlier in the year and was long awaited, it didn’t disappoint. Laura, our guide met us off the ferry and quickly introduced us to the rest of our party and Steve. The knowledge Laura has of the local wildlife and Flora is fantastic
, she was able to impart this to us whilst driving carefully and considerately on the islands single track roads. She also told us snippets of local life. The places chosen for spotting and lunches were well thought out. Tobermory and Calgary bay was a lovely day and our visit to Iona was magical. The day at sea seeing numerous seals, harbour porpoise and dolphins was great, and the lunch , as always fantastic. The Glenforsa hotel is comfortable and the staff lovely and cheerful. The food is tasty and plentiful. There is so much to see on Mull, I am sure we will return.
I highly recommend this trip. Laura and Steve have produced a great itinerary and the extras they provided add a personal touch, together with Angela’s individual packed lunches this was a great break.

We can thoroughly recommend Mull Wildlife Breaks having returned from a very enjoyable 5 days.

Pre trip communication is excellent.

Laura was a great guide, full of knowledge about Mull flora and fauna, and what it’s like to be part of the Mull community. Laura was flexible with the itinerary to ensure we got the most out of our time in Mull, and rearranged the days to give us the best chance of decent weather for the boat trip and generally avoiding the awful weather forecast. It’s a relaxed paced trip, we never felt rushed, and the time is spent with the wildlife when its spotted. This resulted in a fabulous 45 mins with 3 otters on one occasion.

The van is very comfortable with sufficient room and Laura is a very considerate driver.

Angela made some cracking lunches to suit everyone's dietary needs all packed in individual picnic baskets. The Glenforsa hotel also had plenty of dinner options. Mull is still reliant on mainland deliveries, but the team ensure there are always options if something is not available.

We liked the Glenforsa hotel location, handy for the beach and evening walks and birdlife. It has a very relaxed atmosphere, and all the staff were welcoming and friendly.

We found Laura, Angela and the Glenforsa hotel are conscious of sustainability and impacts on the environment and economy of Mull. Little touches or comments throughout the trip demonstrated this. E.g. the use of mini picnic baskets and paper.

Thanks for a great week Laura.

Dear Simon & Angela, What great photos! You've really captured the sense and scale of the landscape around Mull's vast coast. Great to have this shout-out to sustainability approach too; we try our best to keep the landscape looking as clean as it should. We've got the lunches to a point where every element is recyclable or reusable now so thank you again for noticing! I'm really pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us and I hope we'll see you again, Kind Regards, Laura

A wonderful wildlife packed trip with Laura on beautiful Mull. My mum and I travelled in early June, the break was very well organised and flowed smoothly. Laura is a talented guide and made sure we saw as much as possible- her love for the island and he job really shone through and she made us feel feel very welcome.

The tour covered a huge amount. I especially enjoyed the boat trip out to the sea bird colony and our visit from three white tailed eagles.

The packed lunches were very good and hospitality generally kept us warm when the weather was distinctly Scottish. The hotel was quirky, but food was plentiful plus and the beach walks from the door we’re lovely.

I’d definitely recommend Mull Wildlife break.

A truly magical wildlife experience.
Our hosts ,Steve and Angela, made us very welcome and the company operates in in a family like environment and couldn't do enough for us. Lots of wee surprises and personal touches for their guest, even to supplying lens wipes for our binoculars. No further spoilers!
Laura our guide was so friendly, enthusiastic and demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the island and its wonderful animals and plants.
She successfully led us to our bucket list of species White Tailed and Golden Eagles, Otters, Minke whales plus a host of others.
We would absolutely recommend Mull Wildlife Breaks to anyone wanting to experience the stunning fauna and flora of Mull in the company of some really nice people who genuinely care for you and want you to have a great time.
Will definitely be back.
