Had a lovely tour today of the distillery, learned some amazing things about whisky and the process of how it is made! Real highlight in Tobermory complimented by the excellent staff who also work at the distillery!! Also includes a £5 voucher towards a bottle of whisky at the end of the tour!

Visited as part of our overnight to Tobermory. Our tour guide was excellent-the right amount of knowledge and time for questions. Made to feel very welcome and not just another tour. Ideal tour for adults, couples, groups. There are some steep stairs.

We were disappointed to learn that the distillery was closed for tours (late December), but the two woman tending to the shop invited us to return for either a formal or informal tasting. We took advantage of it and enjoyed our time chatting and trying several single malts.

Myself and my fiancé visited the distillery between Christmas and New Year and whilst the distillery tour was not available due to production we went on the whisky tasting session. The tasting was £10 per person to taste 5 of the malts which was very good value. Our host was very knowledgable and able to answer any questions. We both... More

Did not have time to do tour but tasted and bought a bottle of Ladaig. Lady put in in paper bag and when I got to ferry bag split and £42 of scotch was destroyed. Phoned them to see if there was anything they could do and was advised no and if I wanted another bottle they could sell me... More

Hi there, Thank you for your TA review and our sincere apologies for your broken bottle and our lack of 'festive spirit' in dealing with the situation. Nothing worse than lost Ledaig whisky and we of all people should have recognised this! Our first question should have been "can we get you another bottle to Craignure before your ferry departs?"... We went to the distillery to try and find our some information about the the whisky and to see whether it was possible to do a tasting session. We would have been happy to pay for this. The distillery tour was not running as some repair work was being undertaken. The two ladies in the shop ignored us for 5-10... More

Hi Steven P, Thank you for your TA review and we are very sorry that your visit and welcome to our distillery was not what you or we would expect. It is very unusual for us, we really value the lengths our visitors go to, to reach us at Tobermory Distillery. Your experience could not be further from what we... More

As our first distillery tour it was very interesting to see a whisky been made with traditional equipment. Our guide Michelle made our tour even better with her jokes and friendly attitude. Only bad thing, they had ran out of one of the two whiskies usually offered for tasting.

Sharon, our tour guide could answer every question my very inquisitive husband threw at her. I enjoy a drop of whisky, and now understand so much more about the drink. Just 7 people produce the whisky! The tasting was fun...and we came away after a very pleasant hour with a bottle of Ledaig and some lovely glasses. The tour added... More

I like a wee dram bout am not an expert. A quick tasting session, ad-hoc, in the shop taught me I like the light flavours but not the peaty ones. A bottle in my bag and away we went.

If you are going to Tobermory then a visit to the Distillery is one of the very few things you can do there. In general, Tobermory is not worth a visit unless you like a long strip of touristy shops. The Distillery is interesting though and something different to do. It is quite small and they do groups so you... More
