About
A restaurant situated in a lovingly restored church, serving a range of local produce including seafood, meats and vegetarian options, as well as drinks, including cocktails, teas and coffees. The church also contains a luxury gift shop. The upper floor - the Spirit Level - can also be hired for private, catered functions.

Could be great, with a bit of work
Sep 2020
The potential for this place is amazing. Great spot, right on the front at Tobermory. The, limited, food on offer was lovely (although a little expensive). Had the feel, however, that it was run more as a hobby than a business. Lunchtime, 12.45, but no sandwiches available; only cakes, drinks and soup. Was told it would be a n hour before any available. Why?
Covid friendly, with track and trace, social distancing , hand sanitizer strictly adhered to.
Waste bins in toilet were overflowing and despite pointing this out to them, an hour later, nothing had been done. As I said, could be great, but more attention to detail and business acumen required.
My feedback is only intended to help improve what could be a great business.

A smashing little cafe with excellent service and very fresh produce, would recommend a visit while on Mull, a great selection of souvenirs to be had too

Cake and a smile
Aug 2019
We dashed in here to get out of the rain and found a beautiful converted church. We were served by a very helpful young man who even asked if out dogs would like a drink of water. Excellent customer service, thank you. We enjoyed a look round the gallery too, lots of lovely items to buy, quite expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for. Also spotted a famous customer enjoying a coffee.... I’ll say no more “Mary Doll”........

Sun trap

Nice to sit outside on a warm and sunny day. Lemon and coconut slice was excellent. Really disappointed with drink choices - for somewhere alternative-looking, there were only mainstream beers! We assumed somewhere like this would offer a selection of local craft beers.

Lovely find in a beautiful village
Jun 2019 • Friends
Visited today - family and friends and dog .
So yes dog friendly. ( very hot outside - building was cool inside )
Ordered iced coffees - first class 😊
Soups - very tasty - cauliflower and red pepper - delicious 😋
All cakes looked very tempting - but I didn’t taste .
Beautiful building - lovely staff.
Would return if we visited again.

Food good, service could be better
Jun 2019 • Couples
This is a lovely building and has loads of potential, however the customer service could improve. Three staff, all working hard but not a smile, not welcoming at all. The soup was finished and when a customer asked about soup they were just told none left, missed an opportunity to say that they had sandwiches and cakes but they let the customer leave.
Lipstick stains on the cup.
The food however was good although pricey for a sandwich and cup of tea.

And the dogs came too

The unusual setting (a reused church) for a cafe works very well. The menu is not extensive but the ones we had were delicious (pea and mint soup and smoked salmon open sandwich). We chose to sit outside as although it was not a sunny day, it was warm enough and dry. However our dogs would have been just as welcome if we had eaten inside. Gorgeous coffee and s lovely friendly waitress completed a very pleasant lunch time. My only niggle was the very wobbly table - so I lost some of my coffee ☕️ a shame as it was very good.

nice food but getting served is a confusing mess
Sep 2018 • Family
had nice lunch, prices were not cheap but they were cheaper than a pub along the road, but getting served was difficult as people didn't know which was the front of the queue and twice people got served before me and I'd been in the queue before them. other people seemed frustrated about the queue too and when got served, the guy seemed in too much of a rush, so I didn't get to order everything we wanted. food came quickly though and tasted good and nice portion size, girl waitress was very friendly.

A sturdy lunch
Aug 2018 • Family
We had lunch in the converted church. The venison burger special is very nice and the portions are rather generous. The coffee is good. One of our party of 6 arrived on a mobility scooter and found it easy to get from pavement to venue. The scooter was easily stored in the foyer. The interior of the former church is beautiful.

Poor service
Jul 2018 • Family
Food looked delicious. However, we weren't given the opportunity to sample. Waiting in line to be served, I stepped aside slightly as the elderly gentleman in front was taking his time to order, which was fine. Two females said " Why is she standing there", with shakes of their heads, served 3 other people, even though they knew I was there first. I started to mention this to the younger female, who completely ignored me. Not surprised the customer in front was complaining also. Really really poor customer service.
