About
Mull is wild and beautiful. 300 miles of dramatic coastline, including some excellent beaches, and a castle that's appeared in several films. The island's main town, Tobermory, is famed for the cheerful colours of its waterfront buildings and the yachts bobbing in the natural harbour, where legend has it that one of the Spanish Armada ships sank in 1588 carrying gold bullion. Tobermory is also well known for being the setting of hit children's TV show Balamory.

No issues, COVID safe, efficient, fun staff, used it twice. If you need to speak to them on the phone be prepared for a long wait.

Good journey

We got the 4pm ferry from Lochaline to Mull, boarding was prompt and the journey very short about 15 minutes and you stay in your car. The only advice is if you intend to arrive early in Lochaline bring food and drink as there is nothing there for miles and miles around

Great way to travel

Used the ferry service to visit Mull for the day and it was a great service. £42 for a car and two people - not too bad. We sat up on deck on a beautiful summer day and watched the beautiful scenery. Efficient service to get on and off and the timings were exactly as on the website. Would recommend booking in advance though to get a space.

Smooth sailing.
Aug 2020
We recently used the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry to cross from Oban to Mull & return.
Check in was smooth, quick and easy on both days, parking staff were very efficient.

Everyone was wearing masks, Covid-19 cleaning was in progress during and after each trip. Safety announcements clear and concise.

The cafe is currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Would definitely use again and would recommend to family/friends.

Isle of Mull is Beautiful; went through here to go to Iona

About an hour trip from other ferry port in Mull. Such a fantastic trip through the hardscape of Scotland. Sheep and Woolly coos abound and the trip is leisurely since many of the roads are one lane. Going both ways though this boat port were well organized and prompt.

Kilchoan - Mull Ferry
Sep 2019
Stayed in Kilchoan for a week and used the ferry over to Mull on three separate occasions, but only as a foot passenger. Always on time and weather was kind so the crossings were lovely. Saw a seal on one occasion pop its head up next to the boat. Staff friendly and if it got a bit chilly on top there is a sitting room downstairs with heating. Only takes apout half an hour...£5.70 return as a foot passenger...

Worth a visit

Would highly recommend a visit to Mull from Oban on the ferry. Beautiful crossing, only about 45-50 minutes. So much to do in Mull. Take a car and go on a road trip - the South of the island is beautiful!
