A small but charming aquarium making a big splash as Europe's first catch and release aquarium. Our animals are brought in to us by local fishermen, divers and families and are returned to the sea every couple of weeks, so you can guarantee that no two visits will be the same! With informative interactive exhibits, a digital cinema room and our kids craft area, there's plenty to see and do. Get your hands wet at our touch pool stations and discover the secret lives of our sea creatures. Touch pool demonstrations run on the hour every day during the summer months (see our website for current events timetables). Tickets are valid ALL DAY so you can always take time to explore the historic harbour front and come back to see our sea creatures again! Mull Aquarium is part of the THA, a not-for-profit community company. PLEASE NOTE the aquarium is only open from Easter through to the end of October. Trip advisor does not allow us to put seasonal opening times on this page, please visit our website for up to date information.

From the outside it looks like a wee place. But inside I found one of the most amazing aquariums I've ever seen. I saw species I didn't even know were in British waters. The staff were really helpful and the touchpool demonstration was awesome. Jenny...More

I was really surprised by how many colourful creatures we have in UK waters. I had no idea we had so many starfish & octopus! The aquarium consists of local animals and there is an opportunity to touch many of them. The staff were all...More

Took my sons (aged 3 and 5) here. Really is pretty pricey given what’s actually there. Also, we couldn’t stay for long because of another event we were going to (and although the ticket lasts all day we couldn’t come back to Tobermory that day)....More

Tiny little aquarium, and at first glance, not too much going on. However, being able to handle some of the animals really made up for it. Entry price of £5.50 seems a little steep.

Have visited several times and well worth it. A great way to experience some of the sea life of the Hebrides, especially for kids. Touch pool sessions are great for the wee ones and other events are always on the go (check out the Plankton...More

Expensive. Waste of time. All there was were starfish, a couple of crabs and octopuses. You'd struggle to spend more than 15 minutes in there. It's a catch and release aquarium which seems a little cruel to me. To take creatures from their habitat, get...More

Catch and return aquarium (so creatures may vary). Touch and feel session is interesting and suitable for all ages. Small place so only 45 mins to 1hr there but well worth going. Parking outside. Sand tray with digital projection is worth playing on.

I wouldn't go all the way to Tobermory for this place (obviously) but if you are already on Mull, it's a great way to pass some time one afternoon.
