Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a day we had with Andy. Despite the inclement weather at times, we still managed to see six otters, four golden eagles and a sea eagle, all in their natural environment and undisturbed. Andy was so knowledgeable both about the wildlife and the island. With our newfound knowledge of these beautiful creatures and their habits; the following day we had a sighting of an otter in a different bay and had a golden eagle fly parallel with us on a mountain pass. Thank you Andy for a great day out!

This was a really good day out. We saw 14 Sea eagles and 4 Golden Eagles. Andy took us to places on the island, including inland, where we'd never have thought to look. I've never been one for the idea of guided tours, but this was really special and got us sightings, including of otters, we'd not have experienced otherwise. Warmly recommended.

Andy was so lovely, he needs to be a natural history TV presenter! So knowledgeable and respectful of wildlife. We saw 7 otters, two of which were adult male and female courting! Very nice behaviour! A sea Eagle, two goodies and deer! Would definitely recommend 👌

This was such an amazing experience for both of us, and one of the first things we booked for our visit to Skye. We both love wildlife, and knowing how reclusive some are (looking at you, otters!) We knew we needed to be in expert hands to find them. Andy was absolutely that expert. He was extremely knowledgeable with all the wildlife we spotted during the day, and worked super hard to make sure we ticked as many as possible of the list. We were very lucky to see otters (a mother and two pups playing in the water) a fair few golden eagles including a male who decided to display fly and barrel roll in the sky, sea eagles, red deer and a hilarious little vole who had obviously waited quite long enough for us to move along, thank you very much! They scurried right through us mid Eagle conversation. Would highly recommend if you love wildlife and want that expert touch in locating some of the more elusive types!

We went on this Mini Bus trip as a group of four in early July, we really enjoyed ourselves and learnt so much about the wildlife and what to look for from the tour guide. We saw White Tailed Sea Eagles, Otters and my favourite the Golden Eagle, also Deer and Oyster Catchers. We had some amazing sights but most of all we learnt a lot from the tour guide. We were staying in Sconser and because the guide had told us about an Otter in the area, later on in the evening we were able to spot the Otter ourselves off the shoreline. My brother became very enthusiastic about spotting wildlife and looking at all the places where you might see a Sea Eagle or Golden Eagle because normally you just don't know where to look or understand their habits. My favourite part of the trip was seeing a Golden Eagle hoovering in the sky above, they have a very particular way of flying and seem so free and amazing to watch. The guide was very helpful and answered all the questions we had.

Andy worked had to show us sea and golden eagles and otters. The otters were singularly elusive but Andy found a family of four playing and fishing. A great day out with a great guide.

An excellent day out with Andy. We were particularly interested in seeing otters if possible and Andy helped us spot 6! This included a mother and cubs, fantastic. Also spotted a golden Eagle in driving rain that would have been impossible without his knowledge, skill and excellent kit. Really good day, thanks Andy.

Really good day. The tour guide did his best to ensure we saw lots of different animals and birds. He was knowledgeable. We saw Golden Eagles, White-Tailed sea eagles, cuckoos, otters, seals and deer as well as a host of other species.
I think we all learned a great deal about the wildlife on Skye.

We had a wonderful full day wildlife tour of Skye with Andy! We had mentioned wanting to find otters and seals early on and we saw those and so much more! His ability to spot an animal in the far off distance while driving is truly incredible! His knowledge of the island flora and fauna was unparalleled and we learned so much from this trip! My parents both have science backgrounds and were fascinated with what he was able to share about Skye. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in really seeing Skye!

Hi Davey
Normally the answer would be yes as we operate all year round. Unfortunately I've got some enforced time off at the moment as I've had to send some of our optical equipment off for servicing/repair and won't be realistically able to do a tour until it returns. At the moment mid December is unlikely - but if you're coming to Skye anyway then drop us another line nearer the time, as until I hear back from Swarovski I don't know an exact date we will restart the Tours.

Which is the best and closest campsite for this tour we are going up end of May and I am an enthusiastic wildlife photographer.

The Torvaig campsite is closest to the start of our tour. It's on the outskirts of Portree so convenient for restaurants and shopping in the town too. It's a very nice site and I've had good feedback from people who've stayed there.
