Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love Talisker and when we booked for two weeks on Skye I went, Yes! Nirvana! And jumped on the website. Lots of different group options to tour and taste. And then I thought, I live in Ontario. I also love Ontario wines. But over the last 15 years some of the bigger wineries, the really good ones of the bigger wineries, are no longer fun to visit. They are overcrowded and rushed - still good but less of the personal touch. And so, at home, we now favour the smaller more personal wineries that do wonderful wines. I wondered if we might find the same on Skye. The web is a helpful tool. I discovered PRaBAN na Linne: The Gaelic Whiskies. We drove down from the top of the Trotternish. We were warmly received. We had a guide taste through all the whiskies on offer for sale. We learned a lot. The whiskies were very good. We had a great conversation with the very knowledgable woman who greeted us. We purchased, and in the tasting process I have discovered that my new favourite Scottish Whisky blend - Te Bheag - is available in Ontario. The road less travelled was more than worth it in this case.

We visited here after seeing a leaflet in our B&B in Inverness, and as we were planning a visit to Skye, this was our first port of call. Walking through an office into a small back room does not seem the obvious place to taste whisky, but this is how it is and was a pleasant experience. We were able to try 3 different whiskies while being given a potted history of the establishment, and as a result we were able to find the right one for us to buy. Compared with other sellers of whisky at source this was much better value than anywhere else we had seen to get a bottle that one does not normally see on the shelves of our local shops, so we got ourselves 2 bottles; one for us and one as a gift.

There is a hotel very close by that accounts for most of the cars parked there, but just outside Praban na Linne there is a pleasant area to have our lunch before embarking of a walk for a couple of miles down the coast and some spectacular views.

During a tour of the Isle of Skye, we stopped at the Praban na Linne whisky shop. As whisky novices, we were not sure what to do or try. So, the very friendly, helpful representative guided us through sampling a number of Gaelic whiskies. It was a fun experience. We then purchased a very nice sample set of five 50 ml bottles of Gaelic whisky as a gift. We should have purchased more. Well worth a half an hour or so if you are in the area. There is also a pub nearby for a nice lunch.

They make good whisky – I bought a bottle and drank most of it over the course of the next two weeks driving around Scotland. It is smooth, mild, light - but not too light. The staff is friendly this is an easy place to ask questions and learn a but about modern distilling. That said, this is an itty bitty place worth visiting only if you are close by, I would not drive too far to get here. No insult intended, but there are many other places in Scotland – and in Skye – to check out whisky making.

We stayed at the Eileen Iarmain hotel and did the complimentary gin & whisky tasting offered to hotel guests.

Chris was a great host and it was a very enjoyable experience which we would recommend whether a guest of the hotel or not.

Many thanks.

Second visit. Warm welcome and well informed staff helped us buy more of their good whisky. Wish we had enough time to spend sampling and learning.

Currently the is only one distillery on Skye, and this isn't it! That said, the quality of the whiskey is better (or so it is rumoured). No dead sheep or TCP undertones found here, only finely blended, wonderful flavours.

A knowledgeable, friendly and generous lady took my husband through the different blends, and while he got drunk we bough the original blend.

The best part about this place is not just the whiskey, but the story, the associated businesses and the venue. Do take the time to visit the hotel and it's bar. Utterly charming and very worth a visit.

We had to ring a bell and a very pleasant lady soon appeared. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. After a few tasters we knew exactly what we wanted to buy.

If you’re looking for the best Cullen Skink, look no further. Authentic, locally sourced bar food make this little pub a must visit. We picked up a mooring buoy and popped in for lunch and a pint. Delicious 10/10
