Lovely good for kids too. We met the mouse and the gruffalo and had a good time in the woods. Would go again at a different time of year to see the changes.

We spent a couple of hours walking here in November, it was a nice way to spend some time on a crisp autumn day. Sadly at this time of year the flowers were long gone but the leaves were a lovely colour. I would think that in spring the flower display would be tremendous given the size of the flowering... on a recent stay in the area we heard about this unusual garden and decided to see for ourselves what all the fuss was about. I am a tree-surgeon and so the thought of seeing the largest tree in Britain was too good to pass up on. there are some magnificent specimens here which truly humbled me. built along the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Cairndow Stagecoach Inn which is about 0.2mies from this fabulous walk, so we walked our way up to the Gardens and made The recommended donation in the cairn, if you do put a Scottish £10 note in look for the stick on the top to push it in. We walked off in the... More

We took a conducted tour of Ardkinglas House and wandered round some of the gardens. The tour was very informative and the guide lives nearby - she has been a guide at the house for 14 years! The house is in the process of restoration and you can see where wind and weather have taken their toll over the years... More

Couldn't recommend it higher. Simply stunning scenery and fabulous wee paths. My 6 year old daughter loved it, as did we all. Really magical. Amazing trees! Simply Scottish woodland at its best and most beautiful.

Came here, 100 mile round trip, to visit the gruffalo walk. I found this part of the walk to be slightly underwhelming. I was expecting a bit more than what was there and found the actual trail to be short even with my 3 year old. We carried on through the rest of the area and nature cannot be defied,... More

A beautiful part of the world where you could relax and spend hours. Took my toddler who enjoyed the Gruffalo aspect of our journey. Recommended to all ages as long as your fit for a walk. Kids, parents, and grand parents all thoroughly enjoyed.
