Jura is a beautiful island, it requires a 5-10 minute ferry journey from Islay. I think the ferry runs roughly once every 1/1.5 hours, don't hold me to this though and double check the ferry times as there is not a lot to do once...More

We found the staff very friendly, and they were happy to let us taste anything we asked for. We didn't find that at all stingy, as one of other reviewers noted. At the time we were there it was very quiet, which may make a...More

Due to time constraints we didn't do the full tour. Instead we did a tasting with a look at the stills and bottle store. Danielle, our guide, introduced us to 8 different single malts and was able to describe them and answer detailed questions. We...More

Great whisky, friendly people, nice lunch at the restaurant...you want to do this. Just the ferry ride and drive to the distillery is worth the trip.

If you are going to take the risk of taking several ferry rides and a long drive through deserted moorland you wouldn't want to arrive at the distillery that didn't feel warm and welcoming. Worry not ... the distillery and indeed pretty much anyone you...More
