Great location, up the hill with views back down to the sea. A steep 15 min walk up but my 80 yr old Mum made it (with a little help down the bank on the way back) Great bit of history in a super location,...More

Whilst exploring the beautiful Isle of Bute we stopped and made the short walk to visit St Blane’s Chapel. Despite some what some reviews say, this is not far from the main road (maybe 2 miles on a minor road), and is only a 10...More

Stumbled upon this as we didn't have enough time to go on a longer walk. Lovely sheltered spot. Nice view.

There is a walk through some fields to get to the ruins. There is a magical atmosphere here, and the place is very peaceful.

We like both the walk past the lighthouse before cutting up to St. Blanes, or the walk across to the stones before an amble down the road to the St. Blanes parking before picking up the path through the church and up over the hill...More

Place infused with history. Nice to walk from Kilchattan round if it doesn’t start tipping it with rain. Alternative is to drive and then just walk up the hill. Appropriate amount of Interpretation boards with good level of information .

A very peaceful place and your imagination could run wild thinking of who walked there hundreds- thousands of years before

Loved this place, beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. Well worth a visit. The only problem was that I had to walk up alone as my disabled husband couldn't walk up to it and had to wait in the car.

Any place on Bute from Rothesay is really no more than about 15 miles but you will need either a car or bike to get there unless you like the walking. It is well worth the effort to go and experience the location. About... More
