The park is sprawling and needs lot of walking and climbing . We didn’t enter the castle but snapped a photo .Descended to waterfront area which was crowded with picnicers , sun bathers and swimmers. The views are excellent .The climbs and downhill is pleasant .

This country park is absolutely stunning. It is free and has lots of paths to walk along and you can also walk on the grass. There are gardens to go in as well. The castle is being renovated. Down by the shore is a little...More

How many country parks nowadays are free, well this one is, including the parking. Being a sunny day it was really busy, but once away from the beach on the loch, it was peaceful and quiet, with stunning views over Loch Lomond. By the way,...More

We had high hopes for here. I’m certain on a quiet day it’s fine but the day we visited was just awful. Police presence was high due to undesirable behaviour (high volumes of adult groups getting drunk and then jumping into the loch etc...) people...More

My partner and I opted for Balloch country park as our Sunday stroll destination. The park had a nice, easy loop to follow that led you around to the water. Given the recent glorious weather the shore area was packed with folk enjoying the watersports....More

Visited during the hottest week of the year so far. Stunning area overlooking Loch Lomond, great network of paths and large open fields perfect for dog walking. Nice beach areas next to the shoreline with a small cafe too. Wish we’d had more time to...More

Popped in to kill a few hours on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Had a nice walk but don't expect to see any wildlife as the noise from hundreds of families spoils any tranquility

Sight seeing with some athletic overseas visitors, our walk was quite a challenge at times for them. Breathtaking views and well kept

We stopped in to check this out. It was a nice enough place to walk around but I wouldn’t feel the need to go back.

Long walks, beautiful sights. The castle is small, but very nice to look at. Overall a great place to walk.

Possibly Buchanan St Bus Station. However the train is the best option.journey wise. It only takes about 50 minutes from Glasgow. The Balloch Station is the end of the line and the park is a short walk along the village.

See previous responses....signage in the park is relatively spartan, you may find it difficult to know for sure whether or not you are on the right trail until you have been on it (or another one) for awhile.
