    Spectacular Views
This walk is well signposted from the main visitor car park in Balmaha. The path is largely well constructed and the higher part is being repaired. Will be great when it’s finished. It’s a sharp little climb but plenty of youngsters complete it. Spectacular views from the top.

    Beautiful view of Loch Lomond
If you want a slightly longer walk than the standard one from the carpark and back, I suggest getting off the bus from Balloch at Milton of Buchanan and heading up the road inland. You'll quickly get nice views of the hill you will be climbing, followed by better and better views of the Loch. Once you reach the top of the hill with its beautiful views, you can then make the steep descent to the car park at Balmaha for the bus back.

    Steep climb, glorious views
The walk begins from the car park in the centre of Balmaha (we were staying a short walk away, so got here on foot). You pass through a forest, up some wooden steps and past a gate before the climb. Some sections especially the stony part need extra care. The Conic Hill summit emerges in view, we didn't go all the way - the path was steep and quite boggy in parts. The views were good enough for us at the ridge. A moderately strenuous hike given the gradient, but well worth it.

    Amazing!!!
I went to the top of Conic on a windy, rainy, foggy morning. It was still absolutely stunning! It’s a very nice walk, though a bit challenging (especially in the rain.) I would defiantly recommend stopping by for a few hordes of you’re nearby! (I was staying in Glasgow and made a half day trip of it. Next time I’d spend half the day in Balloch and half the day climbing Conic Hill.)

    Beautiful scenery and lovely walk
Went for a lovely walk up Conic Hill on Friday 03/11/2023. Beautiful scenery!! Walk was around 2.5 hours going up with a few breaks. Took another 40 minutes to come back down. Got to see the beginning of the sunset though which was amazing! Definitely a good walk for beginners 😁

    Great short hike
We went as a family with 2 young boys (9 and 11). We loved the views they were stunning. The path and stairs were really good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a shorter hike. The visitor center was lovely with lots of information about our native wildlife and toilets were clean. The car park was large but very full id recommend getting there earlier in the day to make sure you can find a parking space. It is pay and display and there's 3 machines which are all well signposted however today only 1 of these were working.

It was a colleague who used to call this hill "Ben Lomond Lit", because it was 90% of the benefit for only 30% of the effort. (Personally, I actually prefer the view from Conic Hill.)

Beautiful views and good paths or stone steps for most of the way to the top.

I am by no means the fittest person, but it is do-able. My two boys (10 and 12) did it easily. It is a long climb, but take it at your own pace, and you will be rewarded with the most gorgeous views.

Rated as moderate. For an inexperienced hiker, this is not so moderate. The rocky steps up is manageable but coming down is more tricky. It was a dry day so it was ok. If it had been raining, it would be a bit more difficult. Views are great.
